I also hope it's NOT a water park. That just becomes another issue for people with small children, just like DCA. When DCA opened people complained there wasn't enough for small children, this would be true with a water park also.
I would love to see something more original, something more Disney!

Yes! I've heard about ideas for an indoor water park too! They were gonna build one for DLparis called 'Lava Lagoon'!
Anyway, it sounds like they were gonna build the Water Park portion on the land first, then build the Theme Park portion when the man moved out!"Righty-O!"

i hope they don't go throught the water park either. They need to pay more attention to the problems they have right now hopefully fix those problems then when everything is going great then add a 3rd park.

I think an indoor water park sounds interesting. People come to California because the weather is generally better here than where they come from (especially in the winter) so why not perfect the idea for Cal folks too, and let us swim in our winter, and a few others too if they have the Disney cash. Think about it...this is not just another Soak City that closes in the winter, but an indoor water themed park. I think I like it!

Not to mention any continuation of the expansion is more geared torwards tourism, then locals. While Disney will never shun it's valuable Disney passholders, long term plans for building DCA, was to boost tourism to the Disneyland resort.
Want signs of this? Disneyland froze annual pass renewls right at the point prior ro DCA opening, becuase they wanted the first chance at buying park tickets (on a regular basis, not the previews) to go to a tourist, who would spend more money.
Likewise, any future expansion, with the exception of Downtown Disney, will be more geared torwards travelers, then locals.
Sure locals have Soak City nearby, but DLR does not have a water park, and adding one, could mean the difference of not leaving property for tourists.
Alpha made a good point, most toursists don't consider California cold, even in the winter months. They are leaving their below 0 temps for for an extremely warm winter night in their minds. While a water park will surely do better in the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons, (and probably rehab in the winter anyway), it just may entice families looking for more of a recreational day, then theme parks offer, to stay on property. Wheile they break in between a visit of Disneyland, and DCA.
Local competition from Wet N Wild, and the smaller Watermaania don't prove to be much a a factor for WDW tourists, even though locals may frequent these parks.
I always say, I don't want to see a water park, instead of a third theme park, but if we can have both, why not? A water park could certainly open years before a third theme park ever would.Darren

I am going to have to agree with Darren on this one. I would love to have a well themed waterpark. I would prefer that it is in Simba's lot because that parking lot area would have more than enough space to hold it. That would also give some great views from the backside of PP etc. However, the drawback is that land can never be used to expand DCA. I am still a fan of Disney buying and taking ove rthe Anaheim Garden walk project site and using that for a waterpark, expansion of DTD, and some hotels.

Well, if they are going to build a Water Park, I don't think they should build it in The Lion King Lot or the Strawberry field! That space to too valuable to mess with!...I think there might be room for a small Waterpark behind the Paradise Pier Hotel!
....Here is a thought, why not turn the Paradise Pier lagoon into a big wave pool, and add some sides, and you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone!"Righty-O!"

We've been discussing the possibility of this for a few years now. I'd love to see a water park, in the Simba parking lot (parking area next to Paradise Pier Hotel), rather then take up valuable space in the Strawberry fields, that could later be used, for the third theme park.

It seems like most everyone (myself included) would prefer to see a water park, if built, put into the Simba Lot behind the Paradise Pier Hotel. I think it's safe to assume it'd be the most effective use of the land.
Visit the MIBoards.com Guidelines Page for rules and regulations.
DCA is a creative and marketing failure. It's so bad, it's good. That's the unofficial motto of DCA.

And not like kinky weird, more like akward. But hey, you know what? It was my first time, she's a more experienced woman, that's to be expected. But I did make some faces in the middle that I wish I could take back but I can't and there was also a sort of whiny noise that came out at the end that probaly wasn't my finest hour and...I sucked so bad! I was like a fish flopping around on dry land. I was Nemo and I just wanted to go home.
