I am excited. But I don't think I'll be there on July 17.
I think a new parade, decorations, fireworkds, Space Mountain reopening and hopefully a new looking park if the resorations continue the way they've been having are all fine. And I think they will restore the castle to it's original state, which kind of worries me becuase wasn't it gray on opening day?
I'm just really hoping that they do a special on The Wonderful World of Disney for it. That would make up (almost) for Cynthia not delivering it seems, since Disneyland also gave birth to that series.
They could also do other things that are not to big but would add nostalgia to the place like exhibits (which I am sure they will have, it's like a last resort), and having Walt on the speakers on Main Street or the Esplanade from time to time saying things about the park.
And of course, I hope that they rededicate the original four lands and possibly play Walt's dedication speech in Town Square on July 17. These are obvious things, I am sure they've thought about them by now since they are not being given the money to renovate the rides and stuff.
I am fine with it, I've settled for it because I really want to enjoy that year at Disneyland. And there is still hope that the new guy will pull a last minute trick out of a bag.

I am sure I will be there on July 17, 2005, however, until I know what is happening, I will reserve excitement.

If I'm still in the OC/LA area, I will definitely be there. I am hopeful that between now and then the people in charge will come up with some great things for the anniversary. I will be more excited when I hear more firm information about what is happening. Cautiously optimistic would sum it up.

furbE95, Not Afraid and stan4d_steph pretty much took the words out of my mouth.
"Cautiously optimisitc" definately sums it up.

I am going to be excited no matter what. In fact, I fully expect the official celebrations to be completely underwhelming. But my happiness and excitement at this event have little to do with what the lackluster official doings will be.
I have been at every July 17 birthday since the 25th in 1980, and nothing short of death will stop me from being there in '05.
What will most likely be lacking in official festivities will be more than made up for by me and my pals with our own rejoicement and merrymaking.

Michael, Marcie and all mouseinfo.com staff now that several announcements have been made in regards to Space Mountain closing and Disney spokemen being quoted as saying that it is in preparation of the "Big anniversary event" when will we start getting some more info on the anniversary plans. Do they plan on holding out till this years anniversary for some information or will we start hearing something sooner?

I'm going to the Cast Expo on Wednesday and will try to report back that evening with any info. I'm sure it'll already be online though, as I won't get home until later that day.
