    Question Silver Pass???

What's the Disneyland silver pass? Today I went to Disneyland with my friend, and the guy in front of us was using the silver pass... and it seemed that he could bring friend in for free. Anyone heard of this kind of pass? Thanks!
    Have a nice weekend!

Thanks for your quick reply... is it something new? I thought a cast member can bring friends in just by showing the ID?

It's not just any Cast Member pass. If memory serves me correctly, it's a lifetime pass. I believe you must work at DLR for at least 10 years to get it and upper level cast members in several other divisions of the company also recieve them. Also, I think you can bring up to three people with you in for free whenever you visit.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

It is indeed a lifetime pass. I saw a couple that had them at the World of Disney once. Also, I know someone who has one.

What I want to know is if there is a Gold Pass!

I believe Silver Passes go back to pretty much when Disneyland opened. Way back in the day it used to include unlimited ticket books.

As for Cast Members bringing in friends, etc. They are given a Blue Pass when they are hired. This pass allows a CM to 'sign in' up to 3 friends. The Blue Pass is good for up to 16 times in a year and is subject to block-out dates.

Silver is higher level CM's, folks with tenure, stuff like that. Gold means you're pretty much a God.. Blue is normal folks, but they differ from resort to resort, so you'll notice they look a little different from DL to WDW and such. There's also Green ones, which are "participant" passes which have different rules. Even a Purple one, but i can't remember what it's for.

They all have different rules and allowances, Blue is fairly common, Silver is kinda common too. Green isn't terribly special, but not very common. Gold is rare, and you don't mess with those people.

Silver passes are given to salaried cast members or hourly cast members after 15 years of service. It allows you three guests or the number of your dependents free entry when you sign them in. It does not have a limit on the the number of days you can use it. However if a CM uses it too much, Disney sends out a few letters asking for them not to abuse it.

Blue Main Gate Passes are limited to 16 visits per year and are given to hourly cast members. It also allows 3 guests or a CM's dependents.

Green Passes are given to participants.
Red ones are given to executives of compnaies that do business for Disney. Purple are for Manaement of the Disney Stores, since they are owned by the Children's Place.

Gold Passes were given to family members and close associates of the Walt Disney Company. Many got these passes since they allowed the likenesses of their family star to be used in the Great Movie Ride. For example - the children of Judy Garland and John Wayne have them. They actually have to call and arrange tickets for their guests and they are picked up like Club 33 tickets.
