got an idea
If we really wanted Hollywod backlot to work, why not include the backlot tour as Disney (will always be DMGM to me) Studios. It would take a huge chunk of Timon, but it could be a good idea in the long run.
Thoughts?

The attraction would have to be darn good in order to take up that much real estate, and I don't believe the similar attractions have proven to be a success for that to happen. I wouldn't want that, espacially if the lines start to fade away and all of that land is already taken up.

Why not add 1110 Wilshire to the mix?
.
Gotta have the good, the bad, and the ugly! 1110 falls into the latter two.
Anyhow, we all know that beige is the old black which is the new pink. Right?"I like maxims that don't encourage behavior modification."

I think some people forget that DL, when it first opened, had portions that were built on the "cheap" to save money. FL was built in exactly this way, with the majority of its facades themed to generic, circus-like tents. It wasn't until the 1980's that Walt's original dream of a European village was realized.
Now I know this isn't an excuse for the state people claim DCA is in today, but it goes to show that this "money-saving" routine is a pattern Disney has always followed, even from the beginning.LIKE us at Facebook.com/MouseInfo

When he almost bankrupted himself trying to create Disneyland. That is no excuse when Walt Disney didn't have billions of dollars back then. If he had the money I can promise you he would of fulfilled his dream even more. The Walt Disney Company by no means put put a dent into their pocketbook creating DCA.

^ Didn't the expansion cost close to $1-2 billion? And that's not a dent in their pocket book? Their quarterly earnings just reached the billion dollar mark this year, and that's from all parts of the company combined (not just the theme park segment). 1-2 billion dollars on a theme park expansion is by no means a walk in the park.

DCA costed 650 million to make. Did you know Downtown Disney cost more than DCA? DTD cost 750 million to make. That is absolutely ridiculous considering DCA could potentially be the bigger income. This was by no means just a theme park expansion as you put it, this was a resort expansion and obviously DCA was not the priority in this mess. Quite frankly I think DTD and the GCH were appropriately funded but DCA was screwed. Disney could of easily funded an extra 600 million for DCA which would of been the appropriate budget at 1.2 billion. People would of flocked to the resort when word spread that DCA was an amazing park.
