Rockin' Both Parks (Space Mountain & California Screamin') Info

Rockin' Both Parks ? Space Mountain at Disneyland park and California Screamin? at Disney?s California Adventure park are getting new twists. For a limited time, beginning January 3, 2007, exciting new soundtracks and technology will temporarily transform each attraction into unique rock ?n? roll experiences with music that will be custom choreographed to heighten the experience of every twist, turn and drop. Rockin? Space Mountain will be a new experience in which rockets will launch guests through an out-of-this-world rock adventure thanks to the latest and greatest rock ?n? roll lighting and technology. Along with new technology and lighting, all systems are go. Riders of California Screamin? at Disney?s California Adventure park will also be treated ? and bopping ? to a new groovin? soundtrack. On-board rock ?n? roll music will be choreographed to every twist, turn and drop. With a ride track-turned-soundtrack, this is one experience guaranteed to rock guests visiting the Paradise Pier section of the park. The rock ?n? roll adventure will last until April 2007. (January-April 2007)
Things have been real quiet from Disney about the new soundtracks so I thought maybe some of you would be interested in some of this information:

    California Screamin':

    - Just about all of the trains have received their upgrades to the sound system. So no one should experience Screamin' without the new soundtrack.

    - The entrance to the attraction will received a special banner advertising the new temporary soundtrack.

    - No other changes to the attraction.

    Space Mountain:

    - As we all know the lighting was installed during it's 18 month refurbishment/enhancement. Some tweaks happened before the 2006 Grad Nite and some additional tweaks may occur prior to launch.

    - Inside the mountain riders will notice the mountain will be more lit up. This is due the system wasn't designed for sensors as vehicles come and go (think of Rockin' Rollercoaster at Disney's MGM Studios)

What bands are doing the soundtrack?

    - Well that is the million dollar question everyone wants to know. At this time the information has been leaked out to all Cast Members so my lips are sealed.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Thank you,

I WISH they were doing this during the holidays.

So lame that it's only for that 4 months.

But not for four months and never again, right? That wouldn't make sense - especially for all the extras put in on SM.
    Tasty!

It just makes more sense that they would unveil it during their busy season...unless it's really lame and they are unsure if the public will buy it.

Im very excited for this to start it seems to have gotten a bad rep before its even opened to the public

Do either Screamin' or Space need any down time for this? I would imagine none right?

    Thanks for the info Michael!

I was wondering if Screamin would also get new lighting effect or is it just going to be the soundtrack thats going to change?
The magic is that feeling when dreams come true. The magic is real, and its spark lives in you!
