I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

    Great post, Scott.

It doesn't matter if people go specifically for Disneyland then later to DCA. Yu are still paying for both parks at 1/2 price. That is the way the ticket revenue is divided no matter what the gimmmick for advertsising is.

Its not just that way for theme parks.
AL the 2 for 1 promotions, buy one full price ghet the other for 1/2 or buy one get one for a penny actually mean that?

They do not. Believe me i am in advertising and get involved with major department stores and also do many of Disney's advertising junk.

Before a store is going to start any of these promotions they automatically add the "so call discount" from the item on sale by raising the products price by a certain percentage. They then increase the price of other popular items to help balance the so-called promotion.

I'm sorry to tell you but nothing is ever free.

The closest you will get to getting a free pass for a Disney aprk is if you get a complimentary pass similiar to the on KNRG received. Even then they know that by giving you this complimentary pass they will have you on DIsney property spending on food and possibly merchandise as well as a days parking. They loose nothing by having an extra body in the park. the extra revenue generated by that free ticket would not had been accomplished if the person had not been on property. ALso by giving these complimentary tickets the guest is more likely to spend more inside because to them they got a good deal of not having to spend the 66 dollars to go in. At the end many people still spend the money
Excellent post, ismael. You bring up a lot of good points here.

Hmmmm. It was the New Years holiday, Disneyland reached capacity three days and DCA was once again used as an overflow park.

Sorry. Not buying it. I know several people that were there at that same exact time and they said DCA was crowded. Not like Disneyland, but certainly not a breeze to go thru.

*slaps head* If it was busy or not during the time you visited you have stated your case and feeling about the park. Let's move on so things don't downward spiral.

AZ did the calling out. I just responded. Totally ridiculous and predictable. *slaps head* Must think like everyone else to be welcomed here.

That's not what I'm saying. We value your perspective, we just don't need the back and forth who's right/who's wrong. At this point it's trivial and doesn't add anything. It goes for anyone really, not just you.

I'm going to get bruises on my head tonight.

I haven't chimed in on this topic until now but really, why does attendance matter at this point? The park is getting capital, it's getting renovated and new attractions added. If anything you can thank low attendance or under performance for that! Well at least that is how I look at it.
