Back almost 20 years ago I was scared to death on the HM when one of the knights near the floating candlestick scene came after our buggy. I don't think I've ever screamed so loud in my life. The CM playing the knight was laughing hysterically. I'm sure they had to stop doing that due to potential law suits from heart attacks, but I still to this day look for that knight on the HM. Does anyone else remember him?![]()

The knight started around 1986. I don't know how many years it lasted. I read an interesting article about a year, year and a half ago (on one of the Disney sites...MouseInfo? LaughingPlace?), by a guy who played the knight. Maybe you can find it in their archives?

Here's the article I was thinking of. It says the knight lasted three years; I don't remember if it started in '85 or '86, though.

I got the crap scared out of me when I was kid on the Haunted Mansion. We were sitting in our doombuggie when all of the sudden the ride stopped. My friend said let's switch places and when we did I looked behind the doombuggie and here comes the knight! We were so freaked out.

I personally don't remember the knight, but apparently it got a lil too close to my fiance. Regardless, my soon-to-be mother-in-law was afraid to go on that attraction ever since.

Re: HM Remember the knight?
I wish they could have stuff like this again. So much fun! I knocked on the back of the doombuggy in front of me before and scared the people in it.

Re: HM Remember the knight?
It happened to me. The guy was in a suit of armor standing next to the first door after the coffin. I remember pointing to it and telling me friend, "Hey, that's new." The next thing I know it's coming right for us. Scared me to death.
