Midway Mania ads vs Simpson ads

Ok I love Disney, thats where my heart is, but I have to admit that I think Universal is doing a better job at marketting Simpsons than Disney is doing at marketting Midway Mania.

In the San Fernando Valley I cant drive 2 blocks without seeing 4 Simpson Ride billboards along the way, I have yet to see ONE Midway Mania billboard with exception to the one along side the 5 frwy on the way to Disneyland.

I just feel Universal does a much better job at bombarding the market with thier product, you cant go anywhere without seeing thier billboards etc. The ads for Midway seem non-exsistant. Not a huge Universal fan but kudos to thier marketting dept for doing it RIGHT.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Well not a lot of billboard ads but I've definitely heard more Midway Mania ads on the radio than Simpsons. However, it's been pretty even between TV ads (at least from what i've seen)

you are right i have seen much more ads for Simpsons. So far i have seen one or two billboards for Mania in each freeway in the 50 square mile radius i sometimes drive around in.

I do think that Universal has always done a great job in over hyping their attractions though. They also tend to oversell the attractions too, i remember the ones for mummy they sold as as something intense but was really a joke.

The simpsons ad seems to also be a bit misleading, more so than the complain about the midway mania one saying Disneyland resort.

The simpson ads tells you very little about the attraction being a 3d simulator it almost makes it seem like it could be a rollercoaster.

I'm starting to get annoyed by The Simpsons Ride commercials, actually. They're on all the time.

I've only seen like 3 or 4 billboards for TSMM, in Santa Ana, Santa Fe Springs, and I think San Juan Capistrano. Must be only in cities named after Sans and Santas.

Yeah I agree, Universal has a knack for making a crap ride seem so cool, Mummy is a perfect example. But I just feel that they do a better job at flooding the market with thier product. I just dont see Disney being as aggressive, perhaps its because Disney is topdog and doesnt need to be as aggressive? Im not sure, but I definatly notice more of a USH presence in the marketting.

Radio station 104.3 My FM from LA starting off giving away tickets to the Disneyland Resort to you could "be among the first to ride Toy Story Mania!" back in June. Then they gave away tickets to Universal Studios for the Simpsons Ride. Now they are doing it for Knott's Berry Farm saying "be among the first to ride Pony Express" even though it's been open for 2 months now. Guess all the parks with new rides wanted in on the same promotions.

Universal has always been considered "2nd class" to Disney. I think you're right, when Disney has something new, word of mouth spreads quickly. Universal has to plug the hell out of stuff.
