Here's the info from the site........http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disn...ecialOfferPage

it seems the times depend on the day that you want to go. From what I hear the most popular nights sell out fast.....so make those ressies now on line. I have been there on the day of the parties and the lines to get in are Huge!

It also cost more to wait and buy tickets at the door. And the sad thing for the kids would be to not be able to enter because of a sell out!

I went 2 years ago and that was enough for me. There really wasn't anything extra special that I didn't get during regular hours. They didn't have many candy stations and what they did have set up, you didn't get but a couple of pieces. Very disappointed. Now if they ever set up like WDW in Florida! We went 3 years ago to Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party at WDW and it was great! They had a special parade (I think it was called 'Boo to You') and prior to the parade the headless horseman makes a ride down main st. Also they had a special fireworks show and TONS of candy and candy stations! Plus they had a ghost out in front of the Haunted Mansion interacting with the guest (quite cool!). Anyways, I would not recommend the DCA Halloween party. Save your $$$ for other park stuff/goodies (but thats just my say).

The prices for the "Mickey's Trick or Treat" after hour event at DCA has gone up year after year.

Interesting to note, NONE of the days have sold out yet.

It is a cute event, but it is basically a chance to dress up in costume and visit a Disney Park (Though ALL costumes need to be Child Friendly) and gather up bags of candy. Also some chances to get photos of Disney Characters.

But there is no reason to ride rides or do other things if you already have standard park admission (such as an AP or Multi-day ParkHopper).

Disney's HalloweenTime is a resort wide celebration that comes with your standard park admission.

Special events, such as Woody's Halloween Roundup in the Big Thunder Ranch area of Disneyland, including arts and crafts and special shows.

Lots of Decorations in both parks and the hotels, plus Downtown Disney. Many Disney Characters in costume hang around, especially on Main Street and at the Big Thunder Area.

IMHO, the 4 hours of the extra event at DCA has just got too expensive to be a good value.

Take the money, go buy some candy at Target/Walmart, and then a good dinner somewhere.

For a few folks that want to do the "get into costume", it is probably still worth it. But if you are 10 or older, you can't go into Disneyland or DCA during regular park hours, so you almost need to make the DCA event the only thing you do that day if the costume thing is important to you.

One of the reasons I did the event 2 years ago was to be able to ride the Tower Of Terror at night (as the park closed early the week I was there). But here's where Darkbeer hit the nail on the head. For the extra 4 hours I was in the park I saw nothing that added to the value of the extra admission ticket that you didn't already get with your regular day admission ticket/annual pass. Oh sure you get a few dancing blow up things, some boring singing entertainment, a few small pieces of candy (I think they were the tiny snickers treats) and you get to ride the same rides that you could during the day. If you're up to dressing in costume then it may be worth it to some and some might just want to check it out for themselves to see if they think it's worth it. As Darkbeer said, take the money ($29 a person adds up quickly - except age 2 and under are free) and use it on something else that you will enjoy.

I couldn't agree more. It's just not worth the money now.

They are now advertising Mickey's Trick or Treat party above the exit turnstyles at both Disneyland and DCA. The past couple years, they would only advertise HalloweenTime. But this year, since they limited the days cast members and APs can buy tickets for the party this year, they can now promote the party more.

Hum, maybe it was just a novelty since it was our first year going but we went last year and it was nothing like you described. There were tons of treat stations and most were giving us multiples if not handfuls of candy (and healthier alternatives such as carrots, raisons, etc). We had so much candy in all 4 bags that we had to dump them in our backpack to continue.

My kids (9 and 4) loved the Halloween extras such as the scarecrows at the entrance to Bug's land and dancing with all the characters in the music areas (and not just one but lots of characters). They received much more personal attention from the characters than they ever receive on a regular day. Not having to wait in line for most rides was great but we went with the attitude that we wanted to see the other stuff and rides were a lesser priority because we have passes and can do the rides anytime.

My kids especially loved having me and my hubby dressed up along with them and it made for a very special Halloween adventure for our family. We will be going back again this year. I hope they haven't changed too much because my kids are already talking about it and planning our costumes.

Oh, and there was a special parade for the event, although it was a little short.

^Glad to hear your side of the story Dlfansx4, for I had heard that last year was much better than the first year that they tried this. I hope for everyones sake that it will continue to improve each year.
