That's sad. Are they going to do ANYTHING at all in the Sunshine Plaza? At least put lights in the trees.. Something! I went by today real quick and there is nothing there at all. That will look pretty sad for DCA to have nothing at the front of the park except the Golden Gate Bridge with "dazzling lights" and garland. Which, by the way, the garland got trimmed back along the main expanse of the bridge. Just the wreath there and a couple short swags. The garland used to go along the entire length of the bridge.
I guess if they put up walls and start tearing stuff down for the remake, that would be a good reason to not do anything there for Christmas.. But I bet that is not happening.
One last question.. Is Santa even going to be in DCA this year??

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."
Disneyland. My Anti-drug.

[QUOTE=dlfreak;17296207]Snowflake sculpture makes its appearance... STUNNING, no? Thanks a million to MouseInfo Member ExClub.
Well that is pretty, but I wouldn't exactly call it a "sculpture". We can hope there will be a big free standing something near the entrance too!
Hope to go find out tomorrow.
Are they practicing the castle light up during park hours this week? or next......before Friday?
DMom are you sure they had the "woodsie" Santa in DCA last year? I really liked him better than Beach Santa, and the last pics I had of him were 3 or 4 years ago.

They had the Santa near the Grizzly Peak waterfalls before they began having Santa's Beach Blast. So it's been several years since he was over there. I did like how they had his huge chair there and a couple cool Christmas trees next to him, with the "woodsie" look to them. Wonder if the will go back to that this year, or have him up near the actual DCA tree near Golden Dreams..
Yes, the DCA tree is up today, but still naked! They were still "fluffing" it out. The bottom half looked about done, but the top had not been worked on yet. No decorations yet, just the lights were on it.
And what's up with the San Francisco buildings? They are not getting anything this year?? Yet another cutback for DCA? They must figure in man-hours as a cost to do certain stuff when they cut budgets. They already have the decorations from past year. Just put them back up real quick! But I know, nothing is that simple with Disney...
Yes, there is still time to put more stuff up, but since the already did the Golden Dreams dome (minus the lights on the dome itself), they would usually do those buildings at the same time. So it looks like it's not happening this year. Hope I'm wrong..

Here are some shots of this Santa fron 2002:

I LOVE HIM! Bring him back Disney!
Oh My Gosh...............look at my avitar...........is this the same costume as in 2002? The avitar is of Santa after the Christmas Holiday 2007 relaxing in Reindeer Round Up. Mrs Clause had a more casual attire too!

I dont remember seeing the full set up like the above pictures, but I could have sworn that he was free standing in that area..but I could be off on my timing. I never carried for the beach Santa..who wants to see Santa in a speedo?

Yup, that's the setup they had for Santa the first couple years of DCA! Those Christmas trees were cool with the huge pine cones and all.. It was a decent photo op for Santa..
