I really don't see much of a problem with the cutbacks. It's only been a few shows, and people are getting all upset and worked up over it. Plus, most people on these boards didn't like the Princess Fantasy Faire or the Parade of Dreams. It's not like Fantasmic and Remeber are disappearing for ever.
And Disney wouldn't cut back on the DVCs. Not after what people paid to get it.

Do you know why Disney is a strong and healthy company? Because they aren't stupid with their money and blow it when they can't afford it.
And Barry Diller is a horrible example. He's a hypocrite. ANY leader of any corporation has done exactly what he just said was done for no good reason.
And I'm surprised, Spokker, that you didn't quote this part:
Not to mention, who's to say where the limit is for a company to make profits vs. cutting back? Isn't that the right of any company to decide for themselves?* Indiscriminate spending: “There is a reluctance, even with people who have vast resources. Right now, it just isn’t the order; it isn’t the day. You’re not going to see a birthday party for three million bucks. I don’t care how many billions you have or paying Mick Jagger $3 million to come and sing for your birthday. I notice this with my friend. I just notice this as a condition of this period.”

Some people are upset because they are cutting things they enjoy. Sure, at this particular board, a lot of folks seem to not like POD. Fine, they all like Fantasmic! and Remember better. At other boards, there is a lot of upset over this because there are actually a lot of people who loved POD. It was also a parade that was very popular with normal guests. People like different things...when cuts hit something you like, it hurts. So, that's why some of us are worked up.
Not to mention that it is not a situation about certain things going away because something of equal or greater value and quality is coming right away. It's not. And the overall value and experience for visiting DL is a lot less for what is a lot of money. Hell, I could care less about Princess Fantasy Faire (I want a real stage show), but I would rather have the facility running at full speed giving guests the most value for that ticket, than to see half of it shuttered.
