When they covered the monorail like a bus advertisement, put all sorts of dream crap around the resort, and covered the front of the park with graffiti that was mercifully taken down.

It's one promotion into another. Give us a break already. I want to see the park without tacky banners someday.

The monorail was awesome as a sumbarine. What are they supposed to do, not advertise? I don't see why exactly people get annoyed over such a subtile detail.

I meant the Year of a Million Dreams wrap.

The reason people get annoyed about subtle details is because Disneyland is all about the details.

But a subtle detail does not all of a sudden NOT make Disneyland the Happiest Place on Earth.

No, but promotions as a whole can take away from the experience for me.

To me, a year without a promotion (at least one visible within the park), would be a great idea.

Wait, am I supposed to be happy that as a Annual Pass Holder who averaged at least three hours a week at the park...I won nothing because Disney chose to reward those going to the park at times when APers and other locals were likely not there?

    Please.

They would be a wonderful idea

In my scenario the park would be vanilla Disneyland. No banners, no special decorations, no monorail wraps, no Dream Squads, no nothing. Hell, I'd get rid of the DVC crap too. If something doesn't feel like it should be there, it won't be there under my regime. Disneyland would just be itself.

Outside of the park they could promote it in any way they see fit, from television commercials to those guys who swing signs on street corners.
