I liked Ms. Brown's response. I laughed a little because I basically was thinking those exact sentences in my head.
Anyways, like everyone has said, this is tragic but very strange response. o_O

Next thing you know, they turn the partners statue into an Anti-Smoking display.

This is strange and i am sorry but its all about publicity. Yes its a tragedy but what in the world does this have to do with a private corporation like Disney. Many people Innocent people die from accidental shootings and other monstrocities i do not believe that they all should have monuments put up on display. I do not even think that cities should allow people to have meomorials left out in the public streets and sidewalks for weeks, months and sometimes years. Yes i am talking about the thousands of them that you now see all over the areas with flowers and crosses along the sides of streets and highways. I think those should be removed after a grieving point and moved to the place the loved one has been put to rest

I can understand the families need to publicize the damage caused in this case. Maybe the lawsuit against the city should be that they pay for a media frenzy of ads and PSA's (public service announcement).
But if my relative was killed due to someone else's actions I wouldn't call on the Arizona Diamondbacks to erect a memorial statue at their ballpark to call attention to it.

Bingo.
This family should be seeking publicity if they feel thats what they should do to make sure that justice is served and it doesn't happen again. But requests that have no relation to what happened really don't do much to help their cause. It just makes them look bad, IMO.
Why didn't they just ask for a statue or memorial to be erected in a park near their home? That would have made more sense than inside Disneyland.

Don't these people realize that if they did that for one person then others would line up an start requesting the same at the end people being denied the request would most likely start suing Disneyland for descrimination.
Could you guys imagine Disneylands entrance looking like Epcot's entrance. lol
We would have huge memorial slabs and small statues for those that paid a premium.
There is a reason why even the bricks they sell can not be dedicated or used as memorials

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

Not to mention, don't these people realize that half the people in Disneyland are tourists and don't live in the area? I would think the attention they would want would be from their fellow residents.
