Were you guy all like " ZOMG THEIR ADDING DISNEY CHARACTERS TO IASW! NOW THE ATTRACTION IS RUINED FOREVER!" or just like " Meh its no big deal." So what are opinions guys?

Opinions on small world reopening

Based on what I've seen of the HKDL version (which I believe is what DLR's version will be based) The characters are very themed to the surroundings, and existing figures in a given scene. They've been re-designed to blend in. So, I'm not at all upset by this. If the characters appeared in their original designs, and very obvious....then I'd be more concerned.

I think that an attempt to out-do the design work of Mary Blair is arrogant and stupid - which coincidentally does a pretty good job summing up my opinion of many current "Imagineers" based on what has been turned out lately.
It might be ok, but it wasn't needed and was a waste of time and money.

Do I have a problem with it: No
Why do you think they're out doing Mary Blair, KNRG? What evidence is there? And how can people say the new Imagineers are so bad. We have great new rides, liek Soarin', Indiana Jones, and Midway Mania. Those were all created by new Imagineers, and they are the most popular in the parks. It's done to get more people on the ride. I might go on it once durin g a week's vacation at Disneyland. That's it. Same for most others. If this is what gets people on, so be it.
I think it's like Hidden Mickeys. The characters blend in with the area and look like the kids from that part of the world. To me, this is all it is."Take What You Can, Give Nothin' Back!"- Captain Jack Sparrow

I welcome the change. In some ways, IASW is getting the same exact treatment DCA will be getting in the coming years. A more Disneyfied approach. Yeah, yeah, sure... it's a classic attraction and has always stood up well on it's own merits.... But there is no harm in adding more of a Disney touch to it.
That's my opinion in a basic nutshell.

After seeing the Hong Kong version i do not mind it. WDI used many of MAry Blairs original designs to create the dolls for the Disney characters. For those that do nto know what i am talking about , when IASW was being designed at one point the worlds fair attraction was going to have some of the Disney characters in it. Mary Blair did many designs for those characters as well as many paintings for Disney movies using the same style. WDI visited those ideas and designs and used them for these additions.
So in other words they were not trying to outdo the design of MAry Blair, they actually integrated much of here work that she had already done. Obviously the newer characters were done from scratch this time around and design to match her previous artisitic view.
So i am looking forward to it.

Since it's not open yet, I can't make a judgement.
I do not like the idea and never have since it adds little value to what was already there. But I don't think it'll be a disaster. Just unnecessary.i like you .

Everything I could say has already been said, and said quite better, at Re-Imagineering and the Save Small World site.
So read that instead! My hands hurt. I think I'm developing carpal tunnel over here.
