I still can not understand how some are so against this change.. I can not wait to see it. Changes in the music, which I did not realize was happening until I saw that LA Times article, and the characters will add "newness" to the ride. As has been said before, Disneyland is not a museum. Classics or not, they want to keep updating the attractions to keep them "fresh."

02-02-2009 05:35 PM #185Are you serious??? Is he serious?? I think he's serious!and we joke because we feel far less superior then him.
Then why didn't he say so?? Surely, it would add to his "superior" demeanor some think he has.Perhaps he does have good sources at DLR and was able to ride IASW. Maybe we are wrong.

"And neither do you."
Regardless though, Al doesn't know these things.
How does he know that the American section is "stylistically mis-matched?"
He doesn't. It's an opinion. It's that simple.

So, on Thursday, will self proclaimed Disney purists be wearing black? Will they be setting themselves on fire? On another site a poster referred to the song as a masterpiece. I mean... wow... some are comparing it to Beethoven (I kid you not). Will people be protesting the tampering with a masterpiece?

Al might not know these things. But he actually might. Afterall, he's the one who broke the news on characters and the USA coming to "it's a small world." And it turns out both of these things are happening.
And if he said that the American scene simply didn't look good, then it would be an opinion. But noting stylistic differences is not stating an opinion, its noting an qualifiable difference.
Of course, I don't know what Al has seen or been told. But so far, it seems Disney has validated the claims he's made about the changes coming to the attraction, save for the changes in the "Hello" and "Goodbye" rooms, and Disney relocated the rainforest after there was such a public backlash, including outcry from film and animation professionals and Blair's family.

The way he is using it for his agenda, it's an opinion. You know it.
Ah yes, the outcry. Will they be wearing black and setting themselves on fire on Thursday?
