AP preview of enhanced "it's a small world"

And I'm saying from what I've heard about it, I think it'll be bad.

We have more in common than you might think.

Oh, now you're just embarrassing. You think more than it'll be bad. Aren't you the same person that has used words such as "desecration" and is boycotting the ride? That's a little more than thinking it'll be bad. Which was my point. You are making these assessments from non-experience. You've said you won't even try it. I don't care if you think it's a desecration after you've experienced it. It's your opinion.

I've not only read opinions about the changes from a certain web site, but I've also read opinions from those who support the changes. Have you, on the other hand, read what Re-Imagineering has to say? I would be surprised if you did.

It doesn't matter if I have or haven't. I'm advocating experiencing the attraction. You're advocating reading about it. I'll take my way any day of the week.

But on the other hand, you go into the experience thinking you'll enjoy the changes, and not give the attraction the fair analysis it deserves.

And I'll give it the analysis of a Disneyland and Small World fan. Which is why I'm on a Disneyland fan website.

That's a complete re-working of the entire show. Not the same as IASW.

Adding a couple of dolls: check.
Changing the music: check.
Re-doing the visuals in some scenes: check.

Agreed. It's not identical. But let's just say, I'm very cautious when Disney decides to "plus" their attractions to make them modern and relevant.

It's not identical. It's not even in the same ballpark. If you want to compare it to something, compare it to Pirates, instead of a now horrible attracktion like the MK Tiki Room.

His Verdict...ride looks great, characters fit in great for the most part and some are very easy to miss, America scene is not bad, "think it's a positive change and has freshened up the ride very nicely"

Pretty funny about Pinocchio gaining 50 lbs.

This always happens when we hear Disney is re-vamping one of our beloved rides...we freak...but we forget that Disney RARELY makes things worse (in fact, I don't recall an instance). This is Disney we're dealing with, consumate professionals at creating a quality product that both children and adults like.

I bitched to high heavens about the Pirates re-haul...but you know what? They did it and did it WELL.

Not to drag this further off topic....but the story now makes no sense. Please, someone explain why Carlos refuses to give up the location of Captain Jack? HELLO! He was one of the most wanted pirates. Why in God's name would ANY town be willing to be pillaged in order to protect Captain Jack's wherabouts? It wouldn't.

Pirates: Tell me where Captain Jack is!
Town: OK.

Heck, they've changed HMH from its first year and it's only gotten worse.

Only two things they've changed "for the better" in the recent past:
Jungle Cruise and Space Mountain. And with Space, they merely made it darker and changed the song. While the re-entry tunnel is better, the launch tunnel is worse - so it's a trade-off.

The pirates also want the treasure, too. Perhaps the villagers don't know about Jack, since everytime you see him in the ride he's hiding. They want to protect there treasure, but the pirates are after Jack because he knows where the treasure is.

Also, the old Pirates didn't really have an ending to it. No there's something more solid, Jack celebrating with the treasure. I enjoyed the changes, Pirates was my favorite ride before AND after. It always will be. If you truly LOVE a ride, you should be willing to accept changes and see what they're like, but be willing to ride the ride and judge. If they were going to put in something ridiculous, I might be upset, but I would still ride the ride, because I love it.
