So you want nothing to change, just grow? Thanks. That answers alot.Umm. no. Disneyland would never be complete - that does not mean change, that means growth.

02-08-2009 12:06 AM #474Uh, we can agree that the Bride's Room was unfinished, can't we? It always felt like they simply ran out of money, took a few nick nacks from Grandma's and wala...call it an evening.and she finished WDW's Haunted Mansion.

You're overstating the facts.
One tiny part of the America scene was based on a Mary Blair sketch that was found at an art peddler's booth at Comic Con.
There is no definitive evidence, except Imagineering's word, that this sketch is even associated with "it's a small world" and it could have very well been created for something else entirely. Afterall, Mary Blair's work dealt with children a lot -- including the Tomorrowland murals and the murals at the Contemporary in WDW. I believe she also did murals for the children's wing of a hospital.
Also note that the sketch seems to not have been discovered at Comic Con until AFTER the scene was already being planned and designed for the attraction. And there are no Mary Blair sketches accounting for the rest of the scene including the farmland and the Hollywood Bowl.
To say that the "Spirit of America" scene is based on a Mary Blair sketch is like saying that the Dream Suite is based on Walt's original plans for his Royal Suite. It's just really a stretch.

Not sure if it's been mentioned as I haven't throroughly read the thread.... but why is the America scene so ... pale....? Here we have our first black president, but all we have are blondes, indians (pale indians) and toys.... I hope they add some more people or something to the scene. It feels kind of sparse after riding it again last night. But at least I spotted Pan this time :P

^Who's more believable? Some guy who's more often then not wrong about everything Disney, or people who actually ork for Disney. And where are you getting this concept art came from Comic Con? AL Lutz? Haha, don't make me laugh.
Since Disneyland can't change apparently now, let's get rid of the nice Fantasyland. And let's take all the cool new things out of Pirates Lair and give it to Tom Sawyer. And return Tomorrowland to it's orginal state. And take out Thunder Mountain and put back the mules. That's something I've always wanted to ride."Take What You Can, Give Nothin' Back!"- Captain Jack Sparrow

I wouldn't be so quick to blame everything on Al. The "Comic Con" bit actually came from the L.A. Times interview with WDI.
That said, I really see no reason to keep bringing Lutz's credibility into the mix. Please keep the discussion about the actual attraction, and not about one person's credibility vs. another's. The thread will only continue to spiral downwards if we keep on that topic. Thanks!LIKE us at Facebook.com/MouseInfo

^Sorry, I didn't know. The point is, we don't know if that's true or not.
