the "balloon" characters atop each float reminds me of the disney baby plush line. the dancer's costumes remind me of something from when epcot opened in 1982. coming from someone who has seen PARTY GRAS in person, this is quite lackluster in comparison because it really seems like they were trying to use PARTY GRAS for inspiration. i was happy to see some rare chacters in this parade though. that was a nice touch!

Did you catch an afternoon or evening performance? There seems to be some awesome lighting on it but for the summer the latest one happens when it's still nearing dusk so not really dark enough.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

Thanks for posting this, now I know not to stake out a good spot an hour in advance.... What a big disapointment. First off, kudo's to all the singers and dancers, they always do an excellent job but right from the start I was thinking "this is almost tacky, not at all Disney, cheapo deluxe, maybe over in DCA at a stretch...." I am soooo glad we did stake out an excellent spot to catch the last few parades, they will have to tide me over till they bring in a new one again. Like someone else said, it will be a good opportunity to get on some rides with less people!

Ok, so the rumor is that a few of the directors of this street party have been fired. From a different cast member, I heard that 12 kids were "lost" last night...they couldn't find their families!
I miss Animazement!!!

If there was any show where you couldn't write an accurate review from just the pictures and/or videos, then this is that show. Neither the pictures nor video come close to capturing everything that goes on. BPB was very much the same way....you couldn't watch a video and get the same experience (not even close, actually).
What makes this parade/show is being there in person and experiencing it firsthand. The music, lights, cast, etc. exude such an infectious energy that you can't help but tap your toes along to the beat. I was pleasantly surprised with the huge amount of character interaction (severely lacking in past DLR shows) as well as the variety of characters they had represented.
While the floats weren't the most advanced in the park's history, they certainly didn't appear "cheap" and the extra lighting effects and balloon characters were a nice surprise. I didn't mind the "DJ's"....I was more surprised that the resort actually had singing DJ's (something that BPB didn't have). My one complaint was that I didn't like the "Celebration Roll Call" segment. It just felt too rehearsed and IMO a bit too corny.
I did have a "BPB-flashback" at one point when "Do You Wanna Dance" came on. I half-expected to hear "Code Red! Code Red! Clear the area!"
Other than that, the song-choices were, while a bit generic, appropriate for the show. The music was definitely top-quality as far as production value goes, and I applaud the DLR for not going the way of DLP and refusing to create new music for anything. Let's hope it stays that way in the near future (Magical....I'm looking at you).
The last thing I wanted to point out was that I thought it was really clever how they kept "adding" elements to the show. Having not seen anything about the parade beforehand, I was surprised when all the stilt-walkers appeared as well as the bicyclists at the end. That made for a nice touch, and it definitely helped the show stop to appear less "stale" since they kept adding elements as it went on.
In closing, I guess that I'd like to say that if you enjoyed shows like Party Gras and BPB, then this show is definitely for you. If not, then there are 50+ attractions that you can enjoy for an hour or so with less people in line.

so do you think it is as good as Party Gras? of course the costumes in Party Gras were more carnival in rio/calypso/mardi gras..... i swear this new "parade" truly reminds me of the early days of epcot.

I can definitely see how this could happen. I wondered about this, too. If anything, there isn't enough time between the end of the "Conga" and when the bicyclists come charging down the street. They basically make everybody run back towards the sidewalks, and since the Conga lines don't stop in exactly the same spot (despite the cast trying their best to ensure that happens), many little kids appeared confused and didn't know where their parents were. This resulted in many parents yelling their kids names and frantically scrambling to get them back onto the sidewalk.
If they added only 30 seconds of music then that'd give the kids plenty of time to find their way back. Either that or don't walk the Conga lines so far away from where they started. It definitely didn't make for a pretty situation.LIKE us at Facebook.com/MouseInfo

Ok here I blame the parents just as much as the direction of the show.
If i was a parent i would be making sure that i keep an eye on where my child is especially if he/she is interacting in the show.
The people doing the show should also make sure that when they pull children into the parade route that they stay in close proximity of where they were pulled from
