Thanks to the ever-watchful eye of Big Brother, a map of Disneyland (circa pre-DCA) is available to the public. Without taking any rides out, can anybody see anyplace to expand with an E-ticket ride?

Re: Aerial View of Disneyland (Expansion possibilities)
I see the area north of Frontierland over the berm and I see the area over the berm between The Haunted Mansion show building and the Pirates of the Caribbean show building.

Re: Aerial View of Disneyland (Expansion possibilities)
Well, based on that picture, I think they could rip up that big ugly parking lot south of Disneyland and build a whole new park.

The most obvious areas to me (and the ones that seem to be mentioned the most whenever the topic comes up) are the area currently home to the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ area and the area in the northeast corner of the park where the subs and motorboat cruise used to be.
The Big Thunder Ranch area looks like it would be more than big enough to hold a building the size of PotC or Indy. If they crossed the berm and tore out some of the buildings back there, they'd have room to build another whole land. They could probably even fit something the size of Toon Town into that area while staying inside the berm. This could be an ideal location for a villian off-shoot of Fantasyland, with the entrance located where the old Skyway station stands.
The area in the northeast seems to be the victim of poorly utilized space. The only things that are currently in that space are the monorail and Autopia tracks even though it's almost the same size as Fantasyland or Tomorrowland. You could fit almost a half dozen Matterhorns or Space Mountains into that area. Of course, putting something new in this area would be tricky without either ripping out or rerouting the monorail and Autopia. They could use some of that space for a new "Under the Sea" Little Mermaid area for Fantasyland and other space for a new E-Ticket in Tomorrowland.
Looking at the aerial view, you realize that the E-Tickets don't really have to occupy a lot of space. It looks like It's a Small World takes up more real estate than either Space Mountain or the Matterhorn. The Jungle Cruise itself is almost the same size as all of Main Street.Just the stupid ramblings of a drunkard.

Re: Aerial View of Disneyland (Expansion possibilities)
I think the area in NE TL needs to be better developed and then the BBQ area. Autopia, Sub Lagoon, Motor Boat Cruise area, Monorail is a huge area that could be better used. I think Autopia should stay, but integrate it into a new ride or building. The cars could go through tunnels and under ground and stuff. It could be really cool and save space. The BBQ area could be a whole new land like someone said or even just make Frontierland bigger and better or make a Liberty Square and move Lincoln to the area with other patriotic things.

The entire ranch area behind Frontierland, although that area I believe is rather neccessary for the park's animals, so chancess of that leaving would be small, although they probably could cut away at it. But Disney often times get very creative -- just think about POTC or Indiana. They may go underground, they may go above something, you just never know what ideas they can cook up.

Re: Aerial View of Disneyland (Expansion possibilities)
Disneyland is known for cramming cramming cramming to me. They seem to use most of their space wisely. then there is Big Thunder Ranch and the skyway building. Other than that, it is fine.
If you take a look at this, you can see just how crammed it actually is.
