A nice Kevin Yee article with a little negativity. Of course he over exaggerates saying that Fastpass is way to complicated, when we all know he's really saying that because he despises the system.
Then he talks about suprise Fastpasses, and how they are useless. Well, you don't have to use them.
Darkbeer is mentioned! Even though this may not be the publicity you want, you be become more famous then Robert Coker (Thrillride fame...)
He teaches us to abuse the system, and thats completely wrong. And then he talks about SuperCheaters, where is the difference?
He also talks about how it is hard to explain to first timers, but when I worked as a CM at Space Mountain- most people got it, only a few slow people didn't.
Anywho...there is also an article over at MousePlanet:

You'd think if this really happened, Al would have reported on it first?

New MiceAge Article 7/2

Kevin's article is full of inconsistencies. If you made 14 clones of yourself, as he claims you can, it doesn't change the speed of the standby lines at all, since your actual body is only in one place at a time, and standby line speed is determined by Fastpass line length.
It's a shame the article lowered itself to tell people how to cheat the system, since the rules are published on the park maps, etc. If Disney wanted to, they could expel people from the park for not obeying the rules of Fastpass, or maybe ban people from the park who tell people how to cheat the system. It raises all sorts of ethical questions with me if an article is so against something that it would tell you how to cheat.
But then again, I must consider the source.
As for the MP story, I'm sure that there were some unhappy people. DL was dealing with Hollywood types, and not the theme park management. It actually sounds like some poeple were able to make a good time of it, and , as in any situation that's different, some poeple couldn't deal with the change. I will agree with the sentiment that the Studio fol did not give the respect to the park employees that the park employees expected. But that would be consistent with Hollywood.

Re: New MiceAge Article 7/2
I am getting sick of Miceage and the dumb articles they write. This was an article that was full of errors and just mean spirited jealousy. He doesn't like the system so he is telling people how to cheat the system. I like Fastpass and I don't cheat the system. Fastpass is not hard to understand and I don't get why people don't use it or don't understand it. Disney tries to make everyone aware of the system and how to use it. It is people's own fault for not using it. As far as surprise fastpasses and fastpasses for shows like Muppets and Bugs go, they should just get rid of those. The surprise fastpass is just an advertising gimmick to get people to go to the show. To make things fair they really should link all the fastpass machines in the park. Overall I don't think it is that big a deal. The only ride I have ever had a problem with fastpass was Splash Mountain and that ride has many more issues than just fastpass.

Re: New MiceAge Article 7/2
Kevin is publicizing how some people cheat the system so (1) Disney can plug up the leaks, and (2) Give everyone the same advantage.
Why should Disney allow some people to cheat the system? It shouldn't. That's why Disney should fix it.
At the same time, why should only the savvy know how to cheat the system? They shouldn't because everyone ought to know how to do it.

I think the MousePlanet article was pretty funny. I didn't realize that Disney was so cheap, it didn't bother to give ALL of their employees a good catered meal. Talk about penny pinching.

I wouldn't necessarily say that Disney is cheap. Maybe DL is, but I'm sure that the Burbank/Hollywood people had more than ample monies spent on their well-being!

Re: New MiceAge Article 7/2
I've only been to WDW, and I've found FastPass easy to understand and use. The waits to get a FastPass have been measured in seconds, not minutes. Does FastPass work fine at WDW and completely screw up DL.
Suprise FastPasses are just marketing tools to get people on older, less popular attractions. (Got one for Body Wars when getting a Test Track FP). They are a sort of return of the A/B/C ticket.

Well, it's sad to say it, but Kevin Yee has sunk even lower than Al Lutz in my opinion. It all began with that article complaining about the tiniest things about the parking structure and he even went as far as to make completely unfounded claims about the way the structural integrity of the building (he pointed out that the cement in the structure undulated a bit and claimed that this obviously was poor planning by the engineers). But now that he's written this anti-Fastpass article full of what sounds like a bitter person who's doing nothing but whining and complaining like a little baby, well, let's just say that'll be the last of his works I will ever read.
As for the MousePlanet article, if it's all true then I really do feel for the hourly cast members. It's no wonder that morale seems to be sinking around the resort when the cast members are treated like herds of cattle.
