    California Food & Wine Festival Canceled for 2012

    Hey all! Just heard this week that Food & Wine will not be happening in 2012 because so much will be going on with construction. It will still happen next year, but will take 2012 off and then return in 2013.

    I certainly hope not! i would love to be able to make it. however, i feel that with all the work being done on the BVS, this could be a smart move. no need to crowd already crowded walk ways with booths

    I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

    Not sure if this means anything, but I noticed she didn't say it was canceled outright. Her wording:

    ...We will not be hosting the 2011 and 2012 Disney’s California Food & Wine Festivals in Disney California Adventure park.
    That makes me think they're still considering hosting a similar event, just not in DCA.

    That's a good point. However, to hold it elsewhere within Resort property, I see some potential problems:

    in Disneyland, getting around the "Wine" (and beer) part of the Festival, and the general lack of open space;

    and in DTD, the restaurants and bars tenants might not be too happy about having direct (and rent-free) competition outside their doors.

    Maybe some kind of limited Festival might be possible, just to keep the tradition going.

    So bummed... this is really a fun event... and really... it seems hard to imagine how the signature events would really be affected by the construction... steakhouse 55 and napa rose will still be open, right? I'll admit perhaps now that Trattoria is using their upstairs dining area for WOC packages they're not as willing to give up the space for a few days... And taste could still happen in stage 17, as long as it's still a special events space...

    And they took over stage... (is it 21?) last year... The hollywood and dine location-- that's not affected by construction, is it?
