That is soo true...it's a really amazing concept though...i can only imagine what the CM's inside the costumes with the character voice would say to each other backstage sounds like it would be a riot

    That is simply amazing!

I hope Disney doesn't lose interest and this never makes to the park full time. They seemed to have given up on the advanced AA project and I hope that does not happen here.

Seriously, is there anything cooler than watching children actually interact with Mickey Mouse? One of the most disappointing things for a child has to be that Mickey (and the other non-face characters) can't answer questions, can't reply to you, can't ask you questions... Watching those kids talk to Mickey Mouse is just amazing. And I think there's something less "off" about it when the character doesn't just maintain silence with a child. The kids look a lot less scared/perplexed and a lot more excited to interact with a "living" Mickey than with a mute one.

When Mickey comments on the little girl's princess shirt and she acknowledges him... fantastic.

And whoever was doing the voice is really good.

Sounds better than the actual official voice!

Assuming this new technology wouldn't be widely used unless it could be applied to all the non-face characters at meet-n-greets, I would imagine that modifying the current headpieces for the various characters could be a stumbling block. Mickey and Minnie look to be fairly easy, maybe Donald and Goofy too. But, say, Br'er Bear or Captain Hook, or the Pixars such as Woody or Buzz might be more problematic without major changes. Any thoughts?

My only concern is if Mickey talks, they all will need to talk. Will be kinda silly if only one character can talk. That won't fly with the kids.

And would I be correct in my thinking, if Mickey is on Main Street he wouldn't be able to talk? I mean it sounds like his voice is getting piped through the speakers... I dunno, just thinking.

And man, those wait times to meet Mickey is going to go through the roof!

I see them monetizing off of it and not using him for standard meet and greets, seems the most practical... have him at things like with the Birthday's at Plaza Inn or at the Character dining at the hotels... places where guests are already paying premiums on top of their regular stay. And of course at the Wish Lounge on Main Street.

Today, they reported on MousePlanet that this was only a test and that talking Mickey isn't there anymore.

Saw this a few days ago. It's pretty amazing. I liked how Mickey's mouth moves with the actual words.
