9 years ago (2003) I got my first AP, a PAP for $300.
7 years ago as the PAP closed in on $350, I downgraded to DAP for about $250.
2009 when the DAP was pushing $300 we decided to do DAP every other year. mid-2009 until mid-2010 we didn't have APs. Mid-2010 to mid-2011 we did. Mid-2011 until now we have not.
Our plan had been to avoid DLR until the hype over Carsland died down, then Sept or Oct come out and get DAPs. But, $90 increase? Really?
No annual passes for us again this year, and perhaps never again.

I agree we have been buying one every other year. I have 8 children and we have bought the Deluxe Pass because we don't live in California. We go to the park 3 times in a year. It will now be once every other year. For us the raise in price is $900.00. It is just way too expensive now! Monday was a sad day for me!

Prices have go crazy at Disneyland. To me it is the best theme park to go to, but they are pricing themselves way beyond everyone else. But I guess as long as we pay they will increase.

Attendance isn't hurting, the numbers aren't diminishing....
I hate the increases, but I hate crowds even more. Increase till the crowds die down...which, at this rate, it looks like that will never happen.MouseInfo Moderator

I also agree crowds are bad and seem to be getting worse, when prices are initially increased people slow down but then all the sudden the parks are packed again. It is like people just adjust their budgets.

I would agree on all points as well. I haven't bought a DAP in like 5 years and will never see one again I would guess.
On a good note, I snapped up two 3 day parkhoppers before the price hit them, otherwise it would have been another $80 or just not go this year(haven't been in almost 2 years) I am most likely going the week before Thanksgiving - I just need to find a warm cave near the park to stay in for 4 days now."An Investment in knowledge always pays the best interest." - Benjamin Franklin.

It's really crazy how much it's gone up. At least there's still payment plan. It's $54 a month for Premium. Still a decent deal if you average once a month visits. Not a very cost-effective once a month visit though, certainly!
The renewal discount had better be more than $20, though. It was $20 off back when the pass was $200. That's 10%. Yet, each year price has gone up, the discount remained 20 bucks. It's only a 3% discount if it's still just $20.Joey AKA "dlfreak"

I think Disneyland has finally tipped over into being pretty expensive.
I'm likely passing through LA in a bit over a month and was looking at a few days at Disneyland either with an AP (will likely be in LA again early next year) or parkhopper, but even the price of just a 1 or 2 dark parkhopper has given me pause for thought. Particularly as I should have the chance to visit early next year, I don't think I don't think I can justify the cost of Disneyland this time around which will be a first.
But, as Cinder says, as long as the crowds keep coming...
