Hey all,
It's been a while since I last posted. Just booked a trip to DL in October! I was wondering if those of you that have ever been to the Halloween party could tell me what you really get for the money? Is it worth the extra expense? My youngest is 11 and it seems geared more towards younger kids. Is this something we should take advantage of since we might not be back this time of year again for a while?
Thanks!

All kids love candy and the Halloween party offers it in ABUNDANCE with virtually no limit. You will fill your treat bags to your heart's content plus get access to the fireworks show which is exclusive to only the Halloween Party. Lines for the attractions won't be too much shorter than normal but the extra entertainment offerings, special character photo-ops (many in costumes) plus the free candy are definitely a perk that makes it worth the cost for a lot of people.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

Personally, the firework show has made this such a tempting offer in the past. But it hasn't been quite enough to push me over, yet.

It's well worth the money. I figure, it's less expensive than a single day, and you get more then enough time to do all you want, and more. I would do it again and again in a heart beat.
The candy they give you is RIDICULOUS, you could feed a small army. The lighting and the decorations are so well done.
So, yes yes YES. Well worth it.MouseInfo Moderator

Thanks, these are really helping to make the decision. We are going in October purely because it is the only season we have not been yet and I really want to see how the park is decorated for Fall/Halloween. We have plenty of days to get all our rides and shows in. Are there extra decorations or shows that only happen during the party? I think the fireworks right now is the biggest selling point so far
How crowded is the party usually (we would do a Tuesday if we do it)? Will getting a good spot for the fireworks be even more difficult than say a July weekend night?

I'm going to assume the decorations are up during the day, but it's the lighting that really makes it all come together...at night.
Shows...I don't recall, I know we didn't see any, but there are villains available for picture/autograph opportunities, which I don't think they have during the day. I know I waited in line for Jack Skeleton for about an hour, but it was WELL worth it. Not only did I get a great picture, my kid got a nap.
As for the fireworks, we were sitting down eating at that time, but I think had we wanted to see them, we wouldn't have had a problem finding a good spot.
The crowds, at least for us, were no problem. I think we went October 21st, on a Friday night...I remember being able to do all I wanted....we didn't go on rides, though...our boy is/was too young, but I do recall the ride lines being ridiculous....MouseInfo Moderator

We found the lines for the rides to be significantly shorter than normal park operating hours. Well worth the money!

Definitely worth it! We went last year for the first time. Everybody gets to trick or treat regardless of age. We felt like kids again. I attended with my Mom, my 23, 21, and 16 year old and we are going again this year for sure. The fireworks are great and the whole atmosphere is exciting.

Thanks all for the help in making my decision, just bought the tickets! We are always trying to find things we have never done before when we visit the park so this should be great!

Well? Did you guys go yet? We are set to go next Friday. We're pretty excited...I hadn't planned on us going, but the husband actually brought it up. Under the guise of "the kids". Uh huh...sure.
