As part of the Year of a Million Dreams, MouseInfo Member Marcimouse won a very special grand prize through her local radio station in Utah to attend the special Dream Maker Private Party this past Thursday. With two extra tickets, she invited Nftysqrt and I to attend and enjoy the afterhours party with her and her children.
For the event, the park was opened an hour after normal park closing and remained open (except for ToonTown) until 1am for all invited winners and their guests! Special character greets were setup around the park and some entertainment was also provided to keep things going all night-long! It was a great event and surely a dream come true for those involved!
We start with flowers in the esplanade. Our goal for the Dream Maker Party was to have a blast so we did not really get any "typical update" pictures of the various happenings around the park.[BREAK]We waited for Marcimouse by the kennels and noticed the spotlights going across the sky.
In Town Square, there was a special banner commemorating the special party.
A better look at the banner. Each land in the hub was flanked by the giant sheet tubes... sorry about the quality of the pictures, we were there to have FUN!
We missed the first part of the opening ceremony but we did catch the fireworks portion of it!
We got special buttons and special park maps for the party. The only thing not open was ToonTown and the park was virtually a ghost town, it was so much fun! Everything we saw was a walkon except for Nemo which we saw up to about a 30 minute wait.
There were character spots highlighted on the maps and other characters in random areas around the park could be found through out the night. Tomorrowland Terrace was one of the entertainment areas with a DJ on hand playing music.
Two character setups flanked either side of the castle where Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Pluto interchanged with eachother all night long. Minnie Mouse was amazingly adorable.
The Mariachi Divas played in Frontierland while Jesse and Woody alternated sets at the Golden Horseshoe.A pirate's bounty of treasure was strewn about the entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Pirate Goofy alternated sets with Captain Jack Sparrow. All of New Orleans Squre had beautiful lighting (from the Fantasmic towers, I believe) on all the buildings giving the whole area an approrpirately festive brightness.
The walls and scaffolding around Club 33 were down and the lights were glowing sofly inside. On the River's edge, the Jambalaya Jazz were the third and final entertainment offering for the evening.
Even the docked Mark Twain and Columbia had some nice lighting on them.Captain Jack entertained the masses.
In that third shot, Captain Jack pleaeded afterwards that we not show this portrait to Captain Moran. He was a hoot!
More of the bright lighting.Chip and Dale took pictures near the petrified tree.
Peter Pan accompanied Cinderella backstage.
Pluto and Captain Hook carefully walked around each other, each apparently quite terrified of the other, very funny. Mickey suddenly popped up behind us!
Geppetto and his son made their way to Fantasyland. The Princess meet and great in the castle forecourt was beautiful and as to be expected had the longest line.
There were no waits for anything and many rides like Dumbo and the carousel were dispatched with less than half capacity! We easily got to to sit on jingles when we went on the Carousel.
As the Cast Member went around making sure everybody was secured on their horse, she asked if we wanted our picture taken with Jingles since she noticed us taking pictures of him. We felt like nerds but agreed!
That first picture is a failed attempt at artsy.Even though I told myself I would not be doing updatey pictures I couldn't resist taking a picture of the still-missing golden apple as we walked through the empty Snow White queue.
Peter Pan wandered through Fantasyland with the ever watchful Captain Hook hot on his trail.
Fly Peter! Wendy was in NeverNeverland and did not attend the party. Probably past her curfew. We wandered through Tugley woods a few times and since there was nobody in line, we were able to reride without disembarking.
We left at about 12:45am and since there was nobody in the esplanade, we decided to do another DCA postcard portrait of ourselves.
As we took our postcard-perfect picture Marcimouse and her sons were also leaving the park so we took a picture together and headed left the magic kingdom after a most wonderfully magic evening! We truly are so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this party, we had so much fun and for that we thank Marci(mouse) very much!
THE END!

How did you get an invite? Was this some kind of prize?
Looks like fun...basically what a Pirate and Princess/Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is like at MK.

Marcimouse is my sister... my OLDER sister. (She is going to kill me when she reads that, oh well... wouldn't be the first time).
She won a dream trip (well, 2 dream trips for four people) off of a local radio station here in Utah.
She called me the day after the party and said it was a lot of fun and how nice DLfreak and Nftysqrt are. Which of course made me sad that I didn't get invited on her trip.
Glad you all had fun! It looks like it was a blast!'What if the Hokey Pokey really -IS- what it's all about?'

Sounds like it was a blast. I love the lighting on the buildings. And no line for characters, too.
