What's Next for the Disneyland Resort Now that World of Color Made It's Big Splash?

Those who follow MouseInfo on Twitter know that Disneyland Resort played host to the "What's Next?" presentation. The half hour event was an official media announcement about what new and exciting offerings are on the horizon. Stage 17 played host to the What's Next? media presentation. The backdrop gave a sneak to the meeting's agenda. Russ Marchand was our host. Disney announced a new offer for the Disney Cruise Line's west coast cruises... Kids Sail Free Seven-Night Mexican Riviera Cruises Aboard the Disney Wonder. They mentioned the previously-announced Disneyland Hotel Rennovations and gave away a few new details. Part of the rennovations include new themed suites including a Big Thunder Suite and a Fairytale Suite with an Adventureland themed suite along the way. Neon light will glow in Carsland at night. A virtual walkthrough of Carsland gives an idea for placement of the various elements within the park.

Mater's Junkyard Jamboree will feature adorable baby tractors. Mater's juke-box will provide the tunes. A virtual flyover gave an idea of how the attraction would work. A rough storyline for Radiator Springs Racers was given. We start with an idyllic drive gone awry when we nearly run into Mack the truck. As we swerve out of the way we come across the Sheriff who we think will be giving us a speeding ticket but is impressed with our driving skills and inviting us to the big race! Before the race can begin, though, Mater has to take us for a classic round of tractor tipping. Unfortunately Frank wakes up and chases out of the field. On our way back in to town, we're prepared for the big race. At this point, our car will either turn into Luigi's Casa Della Tires for a tire change or into Ramon's for a quick paint refresh. From there, we start the race for the finish! Kathy Rogers confirmed new information for Star Tours. Star Tours "The Adventures Continue" will take place inbetween Star Wars Episodes 3 and 4 and will feature multiple new destinations including Coruscant. They also mentioned the new Summer Pass which gets So-Cal residents into the parks for just $36 a day. We learned a bit more about The Little Mermaid Ariel's Under Sea Adventure. Scuttle starts off the attraction as our narrator and introduction into the story... All the great show-stopping musical numbers from the film will be represented. "Under the Sea" will be represented with dozens of animated figures. As a special surprise, Jodi Benson ended the special event singing the Little Mermaid melody from World of Color.
