January 31, 2011 - Rainout, Blue Sky Cellar, Pixar Pals Monsters and More

After a beautifully sunny and gorgeous Saturday ended, the Disneyland Resort awoke on Sunday to a cloudy rainy day that soaked up Happiest Place on Earth amidst a bevy of construction and refurbishment projects including Main Street repaving and construction in DCA for Paradise Gardens, Carsland, and more! Various pieces of Main Street are behind walls for the continued repaving project. ODVs have returned in Town Square. Walls up in Central Plaza. The Disney Gallery is now toting Magic on the Water as its theme. A slew of Disney Cruise Line merchandise is available. Some shag coasters. More goodies. Figures of each of the statues inside of the Cruise Ship Lobbys are available. Gondola, Tokyo Disney Sea. More Tokyo water craft.

A model of the Disney Dream Cruise Ship can be found inside of the Disney Gallery. A look at the front. Over the smoke stacks. Backside of Cruise Ship. Sports deck including Goofy Golf. Chicken of the Sea restaurant. Mermaid! When the rain comes, the characters head in doors. Gwarsh!

Rain and walls kept people out of Central Plaza. Liked the rain falling on the statues. Minnie looking adorable. Rain rain go away! Even in the rain, Rapunzel and Flynn had a line. A gentleman hold's a lady's umbrella. Sherlocke Goat is being portrayed today by Pongo! It didn't come across in the photo but the rain falling on the water with the Twain in the background looked really pretty. One of these is not quite like the other. Critter Country is closed. Walls around Splash. Critter free. Small World is back. Slow unload leaves guests unsheltered and stuck in the rain.

Destini was back again this weekend at Innoventions. Lunch break! Details! Hallo! Get your fortune read. Clouds looked ominous over the Matterhorn. Not much of a line for Autopia in the rain.

When Jedi Training Academy is rained out, it becomes a Star Wars meet and greet. Boo! Waits around 1pm. Figaro! Love those stylized exit signs! Sun started poking through in the afternoon. Calm reflection. Looks like it belongs over by Mansion, not Main Street. A bit windy. Not much in the way of progress at Disney Junior.

Over in Hollywood Pictures Backlot we caught the new version of Pixar Pals featuring Monsters Inc.: Monster Mayhem.

Carsland maturing over the skyline. Sun setting over Grizzly Peak. Love this shot! Mermaid. Blue Sky Cellar shows trees going up here. Some work near the queue area.

Goofy's Sky School paintjob is nearing completion. Queue area isn't much different, although Goofy's Control Tower has sprouted up as you can see on the right. A lot going on in Paradise Gardens. Lots of fore-structure at the Pizza joint. Looks like work is actually finally beginning at Souvenir 66 for its conversion to Seaside Souvenirs. Disney Channel Rocks is stored near Souvenir 66.

Evening testing, looks like a Tron identity disc. Uhh, is it supposed to be doing that? Lots of color in the clouds. Liked the blues in the sky here.
