August 5, 2011 - Carsland, Buena Vista Street, and Soundsational Drummers

1FoolishMortal ventured to the parks yesterday for a look at ongoing work around the parks and caught a performance of the new Mickey's Soundsational Drummers show near it's a small world. AP functions are now handled exclusively at the Disneyland Ticket Booths and/or online. Summer weekday waits are quite high. Star Tours is slowly stabilizing. Slowly. Billy, Billy, Billy, and Billy of the Hillbillies. Balcony still closed. Nice glue-job on the sign. >,< Side-step entrance will be opening soon once Buena Vista Street starts moving into full throttle construction mode. Golden Gate Bridge base remains mostly untouched since the removal of the towers. Walls extended outwards. Walls up near the former wheelchair rental. Carthay is slowly moving along. Lots of intricates going on for now. That's a lot of walls. No more engine! Condor Flats sign has been repaired and spins once again. Boardwalk salad, yum.

And now we do a standard progress check at Carsland... Disney Channel Sucks has ended for the day, now the kids can play. Not a bad vista, seems like the water front could benefit from some vegetation maybe? Alas, a great shot none the less. The Soundsational drummers perform an extra set?!?! I have to see this when Im back for the Expo! what time? they were really cool when I saw them last week.

Ive been having fun watching all the recent changes every week since June, its exciting going to Disney California Adventure and seeing whats new as far as progress goes.
