    Re: Too young?

One of my favorite family photos is Tigger feeding my six-month old while big sister (then five) looked jealously on.

DD1 (now 13) had her first visit to DL at age four. It was a wonderful age and she thoroughly enjoyed the trip. DD2 had her first visit to DW at age six months because I was in Orlando for a conference and my company paid for my family to attend. We pretty much had to abandon Epcott because DD1, who'd already learned the lands at Disneyland by heart, was just plain not interested, LOL!

The key to doing the Land or the Kingdom with kids is to keep it child-centered. If your objective is to go on all of the coasters, you and the baby will be miserable. But you can take your little one on Small World and Alice in Wonderland and to Pooh Corner and he or she will be entranced.

Rule number one: If the baby is miserable, go back to the hotel for a nap. If the baby is old enough, go for a dip in the pool, first, and he or she will nap better!

Dress the baby appropriately, employ liberal use of sunscreen, and make sure you have a bag full of baby-friendly snacks. Try not to use the stroller as a bludgeoning tool, sign up for a character meal or two, and make sure to take lots of photos. Baby may not remember the trip, but you'll have years to talk about those Tigger moments every time you drag out the photo album.

I've been going since before I could remember.I think my first trip was when I was 2 or 3.Although I don't remember it I'm still happy to have gone.My only request is watch where you're walking with the stroller. I can't tell you how many times I've been run into by strollers.

I want to thank everyone for their feedback. I'm feeling much more positive about the trip now.

(Now I must simply fight the tempation to use the stroller as a battering ram when facing walls of slow moving people. Must... resist... tempt... ta... tion!)

my daughters first trip was at 10months old and she was up from 3am until 11pm that night totally enthralled on the first day from the airport to the park w/no nap!!! She went on the pirates of the carr and sat on my lap and threw her little arms in the air and squealed!!!! I think any age is perfect to go to Disneyland!! She is 5 and on her 5th annual christmas trip this year!!! ps I'm one of the gals that takes my girl everywhere I go!!! Good Luck and go and have fun and see it through your childs
eyes it will be all new and fresh again!

    Re: Too young?

Most of the main points have been made and I can say that both of my boys were taken to Disneyland at younger then 1 and 1/2. Stop to show them flowers, things in the windows, and especially get them out of the stroller often. Try this at home: get on the floor at the seat level of your stroller and see if you enjoy the view. Your little one will feel the same way. Show them things from your arms level or riding on Daddies shoulders. They feel more confident and can just plain see better. If you find something wow, convey it to them and they will enjoy it too. The stroller is for getting from place to place and for naps. Have a great time..........it will be a learning experience for all of you.

    Re: Too young?

I personally don't have kids (i'm only 17) but I think a child should be able to walk on their own before going to DL. If you do choose to go with a stroller, please don't ram people in the shins then look at them like you are angry at them for walking in your way. People without kids have feelings too. Even if it was our fault that you ran into us or we ran into you, please don't get mad. It's just a small accident, and unless someone got seriously hurt, it will all be forgotten by the end of the week. The only reasons I remember certain times I got hit was because I got a bruise or the driver of the stroller got mad at me. So just be curteous (and this part applies to more than just stroller drivers) and everyone's day will run a little smoother.

    Re: Too young?

For years and years I've been putting up with the stroller people. Well, now the shoe's on the other foot!

    And that foot....
    ..is me.
