We are having a family reunion/birthday celebration 3rd week in June. My mom is turning 70 and has NEVER been to Disneyland. She has some serious hip problems/pain. I don't think she would need any help waiting in line (we will have AAA enhanced fastpass), and some walking is okay. I was thinking that she might need a scooter though since she just cannot walk for an 8 hour Disney day. Any thoughts? Any companies you might recommend?
Also, how hard is it to manuever a scooter around Disneyland when it's crowded?
Thank you so much for any and all information!![]()

The number one by far (based on the internet folks) is Alan's Wheelchairs...
http://www.alanswheelchairs.com/
They will deliver to your hotel, and the rates are very reasonable....
Also, just getting from a hotel to the park can be a hike, and that is BEFORE going thru the turnstyles......Check out my photos at http://darkbeer.smugmug.com

Re: Rent a scooter for my mom?
That's a great idea, it's not horribly difficult to negotiate around Disneyland in a scooter, on busier days it's a little tricky, but just go slow and it'll be alright.

Re: Rent a scooter for my mom?
definitely get a scooter. while it can be difficult to drive it around on a crowded day (and it WILL be crowded), it would prolly be much harder for her to walk around in those crowds.

Re: Rent a scooter for my mom?
Yes, I would definately recommend a scooter too. You will be able to get more done, because you wont have to take "sit down and rest" breaks too often, because she wont have to worry about walking. It will be busy during that time, but shoot, the people with scooters usually get the right of way anyways (who wants to play a game of chicken when you are walking, and someone has one of the scooters??
). Go, and have a great time. Even though your mom is 70, she will love it, I promise!
