    Re: Early Entry ?

WDW has a "typical" early entry day system, the May test is jsut a test of an extended night system in addition.

All of these extra hours are for WDW Resort Hotel Guests ONLY.

But anyways, the "regular" Extra Magic Hour (1 hour before regular opening) is as follows:

    Sun - MK
    Mon - AK
    Tue - MGM
    Wed - Epcot
    Thu - MK
    Fri - AK
    Sat - MGM

I think it would be better for them to do the after closing riding for the rides instead of early entry. Its too early for many, and yes my opinion is biased because i live on the west coast and will have horrible jet lag. but hey, it would be rought regardless of the jet lag. and nights are more fun

Well, that's what has been suggested by many guests and that's why it's being tried out. if satisfaction is high enough and they can prove it somehow effects hotel bookings then it will most likely stay - all depends on how it's utilized.

Hmm...seems like people are talking aboutt two different things here. I wonder if jumperhop was asking about guests of the DIsney hotels being able to enter the park an hour early, or if he was talking about Main Street opening up a half hour before the rest of the park on days where the park opens later.

    Re: Early Entry ?

I think he was - and that is done according to crowds at WDW, I assume people said it wasn't being done at all at DLR though, but then someone did ask about WDW's early entry program

WDW is a very easy system to strategicly follow/compensate for. Hotel bookings go up, there will be more people at the parks earlier, transportation always starts running 2 hours before park opening - much easier to predict/map/follow than at DLR where the number of offsite guests (bulk of crowds) is really an unknown each morning.

WDW first opens the turnstiles allowing the guests into the "holding" area, then if need be they'll move people to a second level holding area and even a third level if need be. It's a really flexible system based on what the crowds dictate - it only takes a few CMs (most of which are already there well before park open) to man the "rope-drop" areas.

Attractions will not operate before announced opening times with the exception of the Early Entry Program for resort guests - stores and food venues operate depending on the crowd levels and their ability to open earlier (most times jsut having someone to work the register is enough).

So, they dont open Main Street up to shoppers early anymore? Humm..I did not know this! I can never seem to get there before 9:00a anyway, considering how long it takes everyone to get ready. However, in 2000 I remember being able to buy things before the rope drop. It was nice because you had the extra time to shop so you didnt have to take time out of your day. You would think they would still do that, considering they would make money..or maybe it costs them too much in the long run to open up 1/2 hour early than it would make in profits from people buying during that 1/2 hour....

No more Main Street opening any earlier then the rest of the park. I loved it when they did that, like somebody metioned, I used to go grab a bite at Blue Ribbon before we sprinted throughout the park. Oh well, DCA still opens a little earlier, but I'm already at DL so there's not really any point.
