Unlimited fastpasses/AAA

I know this has been discussed already but I'm still confused. I normally don't book packages, but for the week we are going in June, I matched the AAA price against the Expedia price and they are very close for Paradise Pier. In addition, the AAA price includes tax and it doesn't look like Expedia does. The AAA price also includes a souvenir photo, a pin and a few other free trinkets. Am I missing something, or have others been able to get a "package" deal from AAA and have it turn out to be about the same price as Expedia? Normally the packages I find are much higher.

My main question is regarding the unlimited fastpasses. Since my local AAA rep had no idea what I was talking about regarding the unlimited fastpasses, can I still get them if I book on the web? If so, do I need to buy a special pass such as a 5 day parkhopper, or can I buy a CityPass and have the 3 days from that eligible for the unlimited fastpasses?
