    Re: My Opinion on Hotels

I just got back from the gc and thought it was nice. With my ap discount it was under 200 bucks. The rooms were average size, very clean, and had a good theme to it.The best feature to it ,besides the lounge, was being able to walk directly into dca.I know it's not as "grand" as some of the wdw hotels, but considering the limited space in dlr and the fact that it, dca, and dtd were all built at the same time,it's pretty impressive.Practically every time I go to dlr I make a trip to the gc lounge because of it's lovely decor, it's fabulous drinks and the laid back atmosphere.

I surely could have sworn that the monorail station used to drop you off closer to DLH than it currently does, I suppose I could be mistaken... but I recall getting off the monorail and being in a part of the DLH, unless they change how the buildings to the west of the station had the configuration changed... that could be...
DCA 1/2 the park, Same low price....

    Re: My Opinion on Hotels

Out of the Disney Hotels at DLR, I have only stayed at PP. It was fun, but I wasn't blown away and I doubt I would stay there again unless I could get a great rate.

My favorite hotel at the resort is the Sheraton; huge rooms, cute understated theme, convenient shuttle, excellent staff, killer room service and cheaper than the Disney hotels.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather pay for a dirt cheap motel that is just as clean as a Disney hotel right across the street, and even closer than the DL Hotel and PP. Also, the parking at the hotels on Harbor is much better, with your car parked right outside your room, and it is much less of an ordeal. The Monorail is a load of garbage, because the lines are unreasonable in the morning, and you don't get the experience of going right into Main Street at park opening.

There is zero advantage of a Disney hotel at DLR. The themes suck, the locations are worse than other hotels/motels, they cost a disgusting amount of money, and they are more of an ordeal and less convenient. I might be nuts, but I'd rather pay $70 a night for a good hotel than $300 a night for a crummy hotel.

That doesn't mean I'm against DISNEY hotels. I think WDW's are excellent. I just think that DL's totally suck, and I have no interest in ever getting screwed by staying at a Disneyland hotel.
I agree, although I think GCH is worth the money. It's pretty much the same price and quality as a deluxe hotel at WDW, plus you are closer to the parks than any of the WDW hotels. What's wrong with it being over DTD?

    All those buildings were demolished.

I like the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
