    Rope Drop?

It was news to me that Main Street is no longer open 1/2 to 1 hour prior to official Disneyland hours...does this this mean that there is no longer a rope drop at the top of Main Street?

Oops - I found the answer to my question elsewhere. According to another board, Main Street still opens 1/2 hour prior to opening when the park opens later than 8am. Sorry for the bother.

yeah, it's fun. better at disneyland, cause they open up main street and it floods out. dca's is a bit different, cause the plaza's open, so they have 3 rope drops (one at hpb, one to bug's land/pier, and one to condor flats).

    Re: Rope Drop?

I hate it and like it. I like waiting on Main Street and getting anxious about the opening, but it's just so miserably crowded. Whenever I think about it, I think about running for the Rocket Rods, and swearing because the line is already full of Early Admission people. Also, I have to find a way to get around the thousands of people who are about to fill all the rides. I haven't been to a rope drop in a couple years, because it has been an 8:00 opening every time I've gone.

That's why I hope early entry doesn't come back.

The only thing I miss about it, is catching a bite to eat on Main Street before the rope dropped.
