    Post Grand Californian

What I'd like to know is exactly how will the Grand Californian work?

It includes the World of Disney store, the resort itself, and a private entrance to DCA, (near the Redwood Challange Trail, I hear)

It must be ok for guests not staying at the hotel to stroll through for shopping and dining.

I'm curious how they will administer the exclusive to Grand Californian guests DCA entrance.

Here is what I am thinking.
There will be a special entrance that leads from the hotel inside the park. Guest that have a hotel key(or something to signify they are a hotel guest)have access to DCA. I do think guests will not have access 24 hours a day to wander around the park.

    What no 24 hour access?

Darn, and I wanted to help them sweep up the streets at night! LOL

Seriously what I was wondering, is can a DCA ticketholder, but not a Grand Californian guest, use this special entrance?

I would think that the "special entrance" is limited to only guests staying at the Grand Californian, I wonder what system they are developing for this.

    Shorty,

System? Are you talking about a computer system or a system like procedures?

LOL Sorry, I am a lil slow tonight.

    Wink

When I mean system I mean method, like for instance how are they going to know if you are a Grand Californian guest or not, what method or system are they going to use? Are they going to require your room key, a special hand-stamp, a special barcode on your 5 day flex/park hopper passport?

Room key, if it is limited to Grand Californian guests, I bet it is room key. Thanks for the idea shorty.

At WDW your room key is everything. Room key, pass to any parks you purchased in a package, pass to use for WDW transportation (even though they never ask to see it), plus its a charge card, if you establish credit.

I would say once we see the new set of ticket booths open, they computerize all of it, Disneyland entrance, DCA entrance, roon key regardless at which resort you are staying at.

I know they already have scanning at the Disneyland ticket booths, but I wonder if soon it will be help yourself scanning without a cast member at each gate (just like at WDW)

So I guess some DCA guest not staying at the Grand Californian will have to slide their card at the special DCA entrance and answer for all of us.

At the Disneyland Hotel the don't make you give the key back after your stay, I know cause I have a box full of them (Though they do change the code) So, I could probobly on any day to beat the crowds take my family and go through the special Grand Californian entrance with a key from two months ago when I stayed at the Grand Californian, see what I mean? They would have to engrave a date or something on the key!

I doubt that will work Shorty. It's all in the bar code of your key. The same computer system that realizes your room key is not valid at Disneyland hotel anymore, will probably be the same computer system that knows, you are not a Grand Californian guest and therefore not admit you at the DCA special entrance.

That is if the computer system, I'm now thinking they will convert to is used.
