I need advice on where to get the best prices on a package.
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel
8.20.01 - 8.23.01 (3 nights, 4 days)
2 Adults, 2 Juniors, 1 Child
City/Standard View
4-Day Ultimate Park-Hopper Ticket
Disneyland Magic Feature
Resort Magic Package
Disneyland.com quoted me $1,672. I want to know if there is any place that can get me a better price. Dreams Unlimited Travel Inc. keeps bringing me into dead ends... so if somebody would please try to get an estimate from that website, I would greatly apreciate it.

Perhaps try AAA if you are a member, or try becoming a member of Club Disney. What kind of room did you ask for at the GCH? Park view or DTD view? I think Cast Member rates for DTD in the beginning were about $200, so I imagine that regular rates run $250-500+ a night.
Try calling the Travel Company directly as they might be able to help you out to get a cheaper room in the GCH."You sure have made a fool of yourself this time." Brer Fox

I always refer people to www.get-away-today.com. They charge by the room, not per person so it is less expensive. Grand Californian for 3nights/4 days is 969.00.
Good luck!

woah i never realized people would pay 1600+airfair to take a disneyland vacation... then again i've never taken a vacation to disneyland, that's because i've lived somewhere in southern california my entire life. i remember taking trips to WDW but i never had to spend much everything was commplementary from my friends, even though i did persuade them into taking them to dinners and paying for what not... i only ended up paying about 1100 dollars and airfare to go there. but anyway, there are alot of wesites out there that'll give you discounts and such... sometimes priceline.com will have ok deals but not all the time. if i really had to get a discount on stuff without the aide of bargaining or friends i, like splash todd would probably go to triple A...

I made reservations through Disney Travel sometime in March-April and was quoted $1200.00. I took the reservations and when I called back a few weeks ago to check on my reservations and make payment, They stated that The prices were lowered because they have the Fall Getaway packages which let the kids in free. They offered to take the discount off the total price or give me Disney dollars for the refund. I opted for the Disney Dollars because that is less spending money that I have to save up. I was fine with the price to begin with so why not have that much more to spend at DL!!Originally posted by splashtodd:

I would strongly suggest calling and talking to a live person (as opposed to a dead person... yes, yes, I know all the puns)to get a better pricing."And consider this dismaying observation: this chamber has no windows, and no doors. Which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out! Of course, there's always my way...."

Thank You everybody for the advice. I tried expedia.com and got a great price for 3 nights at the Disneyland Hotel. The entire package came out to about $1,150 which was a big difference from a DIsneyland quote of $1,600. Again, Thank You all!

Expedia.com does have some pretty good deals. I'm looking into getting a room on the resort grounds at the end of August. Expedia.com quoted $150.
Does anybody think I can get a better deal?

did the difference in the hotel make a difference in the price?

Hi Jennifer =)
I forget to mention I was looking for the cheapest price no matter which hotel it was (just as long it was on resort grounds).
Expedia.com quoted $150 for Paradise Pier.
However I just checked travelocity.com and they quoted $120 for the same hotel (pool view). It just keeps getting better and better.
Question to anybody who's reading this: How reliable are these website reservation services? Anybody have any problems with these companies?
Thanks!

So you opted for the Disneyland Hotel for $1150 instead of the Grand Californian for $969.00?? Just wondering??
