Re: Closest Hotel to DL Pedestrian entrance?

It looks close enough to walk.. I hope ! After all the "goodies" at DL we will need a good walk!

So I cancelled the reservation at Days Inn.. Pondering the Ramada Maingate Saga or Penny Sleeper... Any suggestions?

BTW- Great photos on your site DarkBeer.. Are the houses at USH from certain films? I'll admit I didn't recognize them.. Are they marked so a person would know when they got there? The Jaws and Kong photos reminded me how awesome USO was! I can't wait to see my husband on Kong & Jaws... I know just which seat to have him sit in.... ~Zoey smiles a devious grin~

The "street" I shot in my last USH update is currently the street where Desperate Housewives is filmed, but there are too many things filmed on this street, I do that the old Leave it to Beaver, Munsters, Matlock and other houses are there, if there is no filming, they do place signs in front of the more famous ones... Also, the Frat house in Animal House is on this street, and a SmashMouth video was filmed there, sometimes they play the video on the tram....

And the back of the second tram, on the right side is a perfect place to catch Kong and Jaws.....

A good place to go for hotel reviews is TripAdvisor.com. They collect various on-line reviews from media sources, plus they collect reviews from "real" people who have stayed at the hotels.

Here is their page on the Penny Sleeper: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...alifornia.html

There is a very wide spread of opinions on that hotel...some love it and others hate it. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground on it.

There is a search function on the site to look up reviews of other hotels.
Just the stupid ramblings of a drunkard.

Re: Closest Hotel to DL Pedestrian entrance?

I stayed at HoJo's in November and was very pleased. We used a discount with the entertainment card and then emailed them with our booking info. They did upgrade us to a larger room. The hotel is only about 5-7 minutes away from the entrance (it wasn't a bad walk at all and I was pushing a stroller with a toddler too). The room was large, clean and had a coffee maker and mini fridge. Staff was also very helpful when necessary. We will be staying here again the next time we visit.

Has anyone stayed at the Carousel Inn? It looks interesting, but I can not find anyone who has actually stayed there.
Thanks for any info you might have.
