We'll be at DL next month for a few days and was wondering if anyone has done this Meet and Greet lately? If so, what characters were there? Was it really crowded? Is it worth the time or easier to see the characters elsewhere in the parks? Thanks!!1![]()

Has anyone done the Disney Visa Meet and Greet at Ariels Grotto lately?

It's pretty cute and fun... normally no wait at all, or maybe one family taking their pics before you at the most. The characters that seem to always be there (unless a change happens the day you go) are Mickey, Goofy, Chip & Dale. They will take turns about every 30 min (Mickey & Goofy come out together, then Chip & Dale, then Mic & Goof, etc...). Mickey is Captain/Salor Mickey, Goofy is in his swim suit and Chip & Dale are sailors.
I think it'd be a fun thing you can stop by and do in DCA without taking too much time out of your day. Plus it's more of a "personal" interaction with the characters instead of some of the crazy mobs, or long lines in the park if it's busy.
For others reading this, you must have a Disney Visa card since it's a special meet & greet only for card holders and is just for a few hours each day. I think you get a free picture from Kodak as well, but I don't know the exact details/limitations on that... most Kodak CM's should know though.
Hope that helps!

Thanks for all the info...it was just what I needed! I'm sure we'll stop by and see if we can visit with Mickey and Goofy for a while...it sounds much easier than trying to catch them at Disneyland.
Thanks again!

You get a free 5 x 7. It's an excellent way to meet the characters!

Could you tell me what the location of the Meet and Greet is and what time of the day they are there? Thanks so much.

Its from 10:00am to 11:30am at Ariel's Grotto in DCA. We were the only family there and got to spend some time with Chip and Dale. My daughter really enjoyed it. You can go everyday, however, we only went once.

I have a Disney Visa card and have known about this for a while now, but never took advantage of it. Now I'm kinda intrested, but am curious about something. You guys say its like a personal time with the characters. I know of all the times i've taken pictures with characters its always, "Hi", pose, snap, and "Thanks!" Thats it. Now I'm wondering, what is it like to spend 5 and more minutes with a character? What do you do? I know they don't talk, so do you guys do some mimeing or play sherades ur something?

I'm just wondering if this info is still current. We now have a Disney Visa and this sounds kinda fun. Now is the photo of you with one of the Disney Stars or is it just a general photo of Mickey? And I read on line that the 10% off at Disneyland was at Rancho del Zocalo, Carnation Cafe and Redd Rockett's Pizza Port; in Disney's California Adventure: Pizza Oom Mow Mow, Wine Country Trattoria and The Vineyard Room; at Disneyland Resort Hotels: Granville's Steakhouse, Yamabuki and Disney's PCH Grill.
Do any of the other Food Places do the 10% off deal or is that the complete list? Thanks for all the Help!

I don't know about the food discounts, but if you log on to your Disney Visa account at chase.com/disney and click check Disney offers, you should find a list of discounts.
The meet-n-greet still happens every morning before 11:30am. Two sets of characters rotate on the half hour: Captain Mickey and swimsuit Goofy, and sailors Chip and Dale. It's a great way to meet some great characters in an uncrowded environment, and get a free picture!Jaleel White does not approve.

I haven't done the one at DCA, but I did this at Epcot in January. The picutre is of you with the characters, a 5"x7". At Epcot the picture was with Minnie and Goofy and they added their autographs to the picture as well. Very cute and worth the price
