I don't know about that my son is 2 and 36 inches and went on both this last time we were there and that was the Dec. 23rd.

No, but you might think twice about it, because a 2 year old kid, in most instances, is not constitutionally built for certain types of movement.
Gadget is a real simple ride for most of us, but for a small child, it can be pretty jerky. If their muscle constitution is not fully developed, damage could occur... kinda like shaking a baby. the neck and the spine connection is very, very sensitive at 2. I think that is the thinking of the "who gets to ride" experts.
People ignore warnings all the time, and then are sorry about it later.

with the matterhorn he will be in your lap, my 3 year old had a heart attack everytime he saw the yetti. and he tried to turn in his seat to face me, not a safe position.
if your kid is a dare devil go for it, maybe let him see photos or a video of the ride.
they will not check at the ride for age, unless something looks fishy.
as for the front gate, not sure how they would put you over the coals about it, unless he's 40 inches or something. they may ask his birthday or something.
check his ID???DCA 1/2 the park, Same low price....

They never asked the age of my daughter when she would ride it. Both rides you need to hold him tight, but he might like it. I use to cover my daughters eye when the yetti would come..Now at 3, the Matterhorn is her favorite ride...

as for entrance to the park...we also never had a problem. They never asked for any of our kids ages when they were under 3..just assumed we were telling the truth. The only thing I can imagine them doing is asking for his birthday...just be prepared to answer. Don't stress...Have a great time!

At times like this, I get the feeling the world is a tuxedo, and I am a pair of brown shoes.
Again I say; is it worth the risk? The kid is 2 years old and isnt gonna remember it for beans. Let the kid get a little more meat on his bones first.
He may be ready... but he may not.
What's so wrong with obeying the guidelines anymore?
Crap. This kind of stuff drives me nuts. No wonder people walk to the other side of the room when I enter.

if I recall...the plaque at the Matterhorn only talks about the height requirement, not the age... but I can be wrong..
Maxdad...thanks for looking out for our little ones...I miss Animazement!!!

Max reminds me of an experience we had. We took our kids to Six Flaggs in Kentucky. There was a small coaster, tamer than the Go Go Coaster. There was NO height or age requirement on it, and there were dozens of strollers parked outside of the ride. We took our kids, aged 2 and 3, on that coaster. Our 3 year old was ok, he didn't really care for it, but our 2 year old..... she stiffened literally like a board and screamed a gutural scream the entire time. It was very scarey because when she stiffened up like that I couldn't hang on to her and she appeared as though she could fall out of her seat at any moment and fall to a very serious injury or death on that kiddie coaster. We WERE following the rules as there were none, but I can attest to the fact that some small children really can't handle it and it won't harm anyone to follow the rules set in place.
There Max.... call me a pair of brown pants. ;-)

I never recall an age requirement for it either.
my kid went on autopia at age 11 months, in his moms arms while grandma drove.
I was behind them so they could not get bashed.DCA 1/2 the park, Same low price....
