    Hotel discounts

We are planning to head to so cal for vacation this July, with a stop at DLR for 3 days. Do any of the hotels on Harbor take any other discounts besides AAA? Or do any of you know a way to get a better rate at any of the hotels we could walk from?

MouseInfo conveniently offers discounts at HoJo's, which is a quick 5-10 minute walk to the front gates of DL and DCA. There's a link at the top of every page in the "Trip Planning" forum, or you can click here.

I'd also recommend scouring sites like Expedia and Priceline. They often have really good deals, sometimes even better than AAA.

Short of visiting websites that offer "discounted" rooms such a Priceline and Expedia, I can't think of much. Especially during peak season.

    Good Luck!

Sometimes I can find a really good deal at the hotel's website. But during peak season that will be hard to do.

There are a couple of ways to go...

If you don't have a car, I like going to Travelaxe.com and entering the dates of your trip, this will give you the current pricing for all the available hotels in the area.

I would also go to the Howard Johnson Anaheim boards, and check out their discount section, to see if you can get one of the lower rates. (They place the dates they currently have available).

If you are bit more flexible, and will have a car, I like checking out Hotwire.com for some low rates, drawback, you pay in advance and you don't know the exact hotel until you pay.

I also check some hotel websites directly, as many of them are now ofering "low price guarantees", especially the main chains. You might find a deal, or get an extra discount by showing you can get the price somewhere else online.

    disney hotels

Just slightly off the subject - but not much - I am thinking of getting an AP so that i can buy my halloween tickets, but does any current AP holder know about the discounts given on Disney hotel rooms? Are the discounts on hotel rooms only on set days (low season) or all the time.
Although i am only coming for 7 days i think the AP will be about equal price to regular hopper tickets, but will get discounted stuff, I have looked at blockout days on deluxe and the time i am there there are not any! And that as i only want to use it Oct then it will not bother me to activate it now.

Disney offers a 10% off rack rate discount at all times to AP holders.

Also, Disney will offer "special" AP rates, usually announced just before the times it will be offered. These are designed to fill up rooms during periods when Disney doesn't expect high occupancy.

MouseSavers.com does a good job of keeping track of all these special rates and offers.

Thanks, i think 10 % off hotel should mean my AP should pay for its self, Even PP is about $2000 for 7 nights stay - so if i buy a deluxe aprox $200 discount and the AP is $259- and i will be able to buy my halloween tks - which E-mailing DLR direct they say any tickets not sold to AP holders will go on general sale 1st Aug! - I cant wait that long!
Need to try to but my AP! bye

Also, Howard Johnson Anaheim Plaza offers a Disneyland AP discount.
