Today's Variety reports that executives working at Walt Disney Pictures are considering making two sequels to this summer's smash hit, Pirates Of The Caribbean, and that they would be both made at the same time (ALA Back To The Future II & III, the Matrix sequels, and Lord of the Rings).
Reportedly Disney has already approached the returning stars to see how they feel about committing to two sequels at once.
Interesting...

This is great news.
Visit the MIBoards.com Guidelines Page for rules and regulations.
DCA is a creative and marketing failure. It's so bad, it's good. That's the unofficial motto of DCA.

Re: Back To Back 'Pirates'?
I really don't like the idea of more movies ending with cliffhangers.
Just here. Nowhere.

Re: Back To Back 'Pirates'?
Just for the sake of my newest obsession, I think it would be very cool for Jack Sparrow to fall asleep in the second one and wake up to find out that hes been missing for two years.

Re: Back To Back 'Pirates'?
That's my biggest concern about them. Sequels rarely live up to the first one, and the first one was so good that I'd hate for them to put out something "meh" and end up with a Men In Black II or Jurassic Park 3 effect (in other words, practically spoiling the original with the crappiness of the sequel). I doubt it'll get that bad, but I can't help but worry how good the sequels will be.

NOTE TO READERS: YellowMan has been known to joke around from time to time. Please don't take some posts by him to their full, literal meaning. Doing so will most likely end in one of the following: making a fool of YellowMan, making a fool of yourself, making a fool of Ronald Reagan, drymouth, or in rare cases, death. Thank you and enjoy your stay.

Re: Back To Back 'Pirates'?
Hm.
Matrix 2 destroyed the legacy of the first movie..I just hope these POTC sequels don't destroy the Pirates franchise.
