Lion King 1 1/2: Who Wants To Be King of the Jungle

Hey Gang!

Sydney and I a couple weeks ago saw a screening of Lion King 1 1/2 and I thought it was just awful. Well today we got in the mail Lion King 1 1/2 and I thought..well I would take a look at the Bonus Features.

Reading the bonus features there is a game called "Who Wants To Be King of the Jungle". Meredith Vieira hosts a jungle verision of "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire" with trivia questions basedon all three Lion King movies. Timon is in the hot seat and Pumba is in the audience. Let me say I have played it a few times and it is pretty fun! A lot better than the movie. So if you get the movie be sure to play the game.

Theres a song from the movie that Raven from "Thats so Raven" sings. I think its called "Grazing in the Sun" or something like that. Does anyone know if its a cover of an older bands song? Because they use it on VH1 and it goes like " I can dig it, he can dig it, she can dig it," just curious if anyone knows.

Was it really bad? I had assumed so until I watched the video clips on the official website and about peed my pants I was laughing so hard.

well, if you're not sure about the movie, perhaps you could borrow a friend's copy or rent a copy from a video store and watch it. if you like it, buy it and watch it whenever you like. if you didn't, then you can return it and comment however you like about on the discussion boards... just a thought. i would like to check it out myself. eventhough i will always believe the original animated feature are always better than its sequel. excluding toy story 2.

Well I was thinking since I have both Lion King and Lion King II: Simba's Pride, that I might as well complete the set. But who knows. If I have the cash at the time of purchase, I might just get it.

I would advise renting it. if you watch it and really think you're going to be watching it over and over for years to come, be glad you only wasted a couple bucks-- as oppsed to being happy that you don't need to buy it and saving like 20 bucks.

I think they are trying to squeez all of the lion king out. The 2ed sucked i really didn't like it. I will probley went the lion kind 1 1/2 or wait till it comes on Toon Disney.

BTW, King of the Jungle was the original working title for The Lion King, for anyone who didn't know that.

The movie was ok...the continuous "pausing" of the movie by timonand pumba was really annoying.
But did anyone check out the Timon and Pumba Virtual Safari thing?
It's really a theme park type "ride". Depending on if you chose right of left at certain parts, it has spoofs of Pirates of the Carribean, Haunted Mansion, It's a small world, and the Matterhorn-all with lion king characters. I got a kick out of it.
