'Gnomeo and Juliet' Not Dead...

Recently Jim Hill Media ran an article saying that Walt Disney Feature Animation's work 'Gnomeo and Juliet' was given the boot.

If so, apparently no one told the producer. Don Hahn still thinks he's working on the film. You can read his interview regarding the film from SciFi Wire here .

I guess Mr. Hill was misinformed.

Not really. I just don't get it-I can smell these flops from a mile away. Treasure Planet??? I said that was a HORRIBLE concept for a movie that nobody would like or see, and I was right.

Gnomeo and Juliet? Seriously, Disney, I'll give you a few minutes to think this over... You want to go with that? Alright, I'll go into the bathroom and take some money to flush down the toilet to speed up the process.

Just by the title I am put off by this movie. Don't use some stupid pun name like they have all over DCA-any jackass can think these up, and it's just flat out uninspirational.

Now what's this movie about? See, after all that, THEN I want to know what the movie is about. That is why you need a good title.

ya know I said the same thing about Spongebob,I never thought it would catch on,and now look...I also was put off by the fact that Elton John was doing the songs for a aniamted feature,I thought the Lion King's song would be too "rock-y"..and it turned out the music was incredible in that movie...
bottom line,you cant tell until you see the previews etc...

and if I came up to you 10 yrs ago and said Nickelodeon was gonna make a cartoon based around a sponge,you would have thought the same thing,that its gonna flop..you really dont know until it arrives on the scene.

Im encouraged Disney is taking risks again,and doing different unique concepts,that was part of the problem with thier last few efforts...

a love story between 2 Gnomes.There is a ton of great talent working on the film,like Ewan McGregor and Elton John/Tim Rice doing the music..I think it sounds pretty good.
