I never saw that movie. What was it about? It was the one before Bowling for Columbine, right?Originally Posted by MattO

Roger and Me was a film about Moore trying to track down the head of General Motors and confront him about how he had turned Moore's hometown of Flint,MI from a thriving town of 275,000 people to a high unemployment, high crime town that is still yet to recover.
It was very amusing. When in trouble,

Hi all!
I will ask one final time to please not turn this thread into a political debate. The topic is a difficult one to discuss without somehow heading down the finger-pointing political road, I understand, but I'm confident it can be done.
The thread has been cleaned up a bit, kicked around, moved around, shuffled back, and headed back to its normal spot in the movies section. Any further off topic comments will be deleted, and if it continues, the thread will be closed. If you wish to create your own debate thread (regarding politics) in Kickback, feel free to do so, discussions like this will be on topic there.Last edited by cinder; 06-22-2004 at 09:32 AM.

Did Moore have this website of his up and running prior to his extremely politically charged films? As in, was there a website up when he was doing the Roger and Me film? Or did Bowling for Columbine bring him out of relative obscurity, into the political limelight?

Moore has had his website for quite a while now. Roger and Me is quite entertaining and I do recommend renting it. Moore also had his own show for a couple seasons on the early days of Fox, which was also quite amusing, and based on Roger and Me...ie, where he went after corporate wrong-doers.

Roger and Me was a very well received work by critics, audiences, etc.
Oh, and I almost forgot, books, he's writen several of those. "Downsize This" is one of my favorites. (and BTW, his TV show was called TV Nation - I had forgotten, but I was just looking through his wensite and his past works). When in trouble,

Makes sense, and yes, I do remember seeing his face back around the time of Roger and Me and something in my mind going "what the heck is that guy making a movie for". So I must have seen him on TV somewhere.

That is a different issue all together. There is a difference between censorship of a Michael Moore film and of common decency on public radio stations where people like Stern use fowl language.

Interesting tid bit I learned yesterday. Mexican owned radio stations (like San Diego's 91X) apparently don't have those censorship guidelines.
