Precisely, It's just entertainment take it or leave it. It's commentary on how Moore see's things, just like his other films. After seeing the trailer it looks like it will be more like Roger and Me which was very funny, but I didn't walk away hating FORD or whatever plant closed down

Re: Now this is absurd...Ban Fahrenheit 9/11??
Doesn't sound like comedy to me.The movie's images include an Iraqi man tossing a dead baby into a truckload of bodies, Iraqis burned by napalm and a public beheading in Saudi Arabia.
Very dumb. The minors can still see it at the age of 17 - a whole year before they can enlist.Tom Ortenberg, president of Lions Gate Films, had argued to the appeals board that 15- and 16-year-olds should be free to see the film on their own because they could end up in military service in Iraq in the next few years.
But what did they expect? This movie, from the sounds of it, is very gory and shouldn't be directed towards teens.Refurb Mike

Am I the only person finding Michael Moore's crusade annoying? Lies don't do anything, even when it's mixed with truth. While I don't agree with people trying to ban Fahrenheit 911 (people should learn to make decisions to see a movie for themselves), his lies are a contributing factor to the trouble. He is obviously more interested in making propaganda then truthful films. Don't believe me? Look at this:

If you want to visit a good web site that spends a lot of effort to debunk the falasies from both political parties, movie-makers, talk-show hosts, etc., may I suggest Spinsanity: Countering Rhetoric with Reason This site shows the problems with many things stated in Moore's movies, and other "entertainment-type" political shows.

Re: Now this is absurd...Ban Fahrenheit 9/11??
If you don't like it' don't watch or listen, and if kids are involved then, hey be a parent. Most of the people complaining about the obsenities on the radio, tv, and movies complain that their kid heard this or their kids saw that, well they need to be responsible for their own children, I have my own and that's the one I'm responsible for. Unless a child is in immenent danger then for the most part their upbringing is up to their parents, anything else out there can be turned off, afterall that why radios and tv's have dials and off buttons, if you don't like what you're hearing or seeing the chage the channel or turn it off.
As for this movie, unless it's a danger to national security, which I'm sure it's not, then of course it should not be banned, we still have freedom of speech even if it is speaking against the gov't. Those who want to buy a ticket will and those who don't, won't, a lot of people disagree with Bush's actions, I believe it was a necessary evil and should've been done under Clinton, but we all have a right to our opinions.Last edited by cinder; 06-23-2004 at 07:28 AM.

No, I find Michael Moore's ignorant curasade beyond annoying. What is more annoying is that people are watching his propoganda films and believing everything they see. It's sad and scary.

I wouldn't say brainwashing. If people are willing to accept everything anyone says then they might have it coming, but theres no reason to not believe a lot of what he says. We had to do a report on Bowling for Columbine in class and I can tell you that almost everything he said was backed up by research. Everyone has to also understand that just like watching the news, you really have to watch for what they aren't reporting in each story to get the whole truth. Moore's documentary's may be one sided, but they are true...and people who go to see the movie will come out with one impression and those that don't will still have their impression.
