Actuallly this is absolutely incorrect, after 9-11 many many kids have signed up, knowing full well they would be going to fight the war on terror etc...remember that football star, left his millions to serve his country, because he believes in freedom, and he died in action, i believe it was in afganistan.... he went there not because he had to but because he wanted nothing else....Originally Posted by atriv_21

I'm sure many many of the living as well are happy to be there....
one thing about the military, they train all their adult life for war, and they LOVE to "work" thats their job... when they are not working they feel they are not doing their job... I have a friend that has mentioned this many times and he went to iraq 1....
do some sign up and have regrets once there or once called up... of course, there are also kids working at subway that hate being there as well(or course the chance of dying is a bit less, sepending on which one your work at)
point is if you poll the soldiers many more than not believe in their mission and are there to finish the job...

Re: Now this is absurd...Ban Fahrenheit 9/11??
Why do you think seeing this film will give us that believe in the mission our president has taken on, will give us a different point of view?

Re: Now this is absurd...Ban Fahrenheit 9/11??
Im a Democrat, and before seeing the Moore film I thought it was gonna be edited and skewed to jive with Moores opinion, and in some ways thats true, however there is plenty that comes out of Bush's very own mouth that is MORE damaging than anything Moore edited and twisted.why would this clowns interpretation of events
he de-classifies info on this film,he explains ALOT,(ie: connections the BUsh family has to the Saudis and even the Bin Ladens etc) go see it,Bush isnt what you think he is.This film got a standing ovation in the theater I was in,and I overheard one lady saying "I was on the fence but now I know im voting for Kerry"...for those ppl in middle,it might sway alot of them, and even if it only sways a few,its enough to win the election for Kerry, look how close it was in 2000.

Was this at Winnetka? I'd like to hear some of the remarks after a showing in OC.

one intresting thing that happened at the theater,is that some ppl were passing out John Kerry buttons and stickers to the crowd, and asking them to register to vote.
I like Kerry but too bad my guy Sharpton dropped out.

Re: Now this is absurd...Ban Fahrenheit 9/11??
A real eye opener huh? That is really sad. Being that this is a liberal propoganda film and people are seeing it for pure truth is quite scary. If a person is Bush supporter and sees the movie, the chances are slim to none that they would walk out with a different point of view. Just like with Bowling Columbine movie, conservatives will walk out shaking their heads realizing how Michael Moron really over dramatizes issues and skews reality to benefit his views and agenda.

its like going to your own church and having the pastor or whatever your church has give the greatest sermon ever condeming sinners, and then walking out saying that was the greatest sermon ever it will sure change everyones mind....
maybe maybe not... I tend to agree with Fairytalelover on this, and I would venture to guess that MOST of the patrons are demcrats, and on the left end of the democrats at that...
this is sheer preaching to the choir...
now who could really be turned around by a "documentry" (editorial) like this is someone who has not made up their mind, is on the fence and doesnt look at both sides.... much easier to just believe the first story you see regardless of the source...DCA 1/2 the park, Same low price....

And I bet Michael Moore is not a republican? I'd say his political party is republican-basher. I think Michael Moore has a wild imagination. Unless we're threatened by nukes or something, with millions in danger, I don't have any problem with George Bush.

Re: Now this is absurd...Ban Fahrenheit 9/11??
I saw the movie this afternoon, and I liked the movie alot. The way they started talking about 9/11 was extremly eerie (anybody who saw the film knows what I'm talking about). This movie was alot funnier than I thought it was gonna be. I was cracking up when he followed the recruiters by the mall. And the most shocking thing I felt while watching the movie was that I felt terrible for the Iraqi citizens. The fear and anger they showed towards Americans was the "eye-opener" for me in the movie, and I can't blame them for hating us. And, of course, the soldiers are taking pictures with the prisoners and making sexual jokes at a dead Iraqi. Finally, the mother reading her sons letter was definately the most depressing scene of the movie. This movie does deserve the R rating. There is some major gore, although it doesn't last long. But what makes this movie even gorier than a movie like Kill Bill is that this was real. The reaction in my theater was the same as others described. Some of the people were crying (including my mom), and there was a huge applause in the theater when the soldier said he went into the war as a Republican and left at a Democrat. It was a good movie, definately worth the ticket price, and I give it an 9/10.......
Luckily, I was able to grab some tickets for the 12:01 showing of Spiderman 2 tomorrow, can't wait to see that!.......
