so I figured if the other thread was started for the trailers, then another one is needed for the reviews so, lets boogie

this movie has great eye candy, and great acting, from every one but the main man that is Johnny Depp doesn't show a twinge of sinister in his role, instead just goes along and is just there, he has a great personality, unfourtunately for him, its a little bit on the jacko side, that being said I did enjoy this film to say the least, it is a wild ac!d trip that will go down in history with Fantasia and Alice as a "What were they smoking" movie, and it doesn't go to into the original film, and the olny music is in my opinion great, the Oompa Loompas are the real sinisters in this movie, and they do it with glee. All in all the thing that really kills the movie is the flashbacks, it is unessecary and boring, didn't they learn anything from Grinch?
sweet: eye candy all around, wonderful supporting cast
sour: sappy at the end, flashbacks SUCK!!!, Depp doesn't pull it off

tough to say, the most greusome scene is with the squirrels, and the Oompa Loompas might disturb them a bit, but if they can sit through NBC or James and the Giant Peach they should be fine.

I havent seen it yet,but from the previews,it looks like Depp is the weakest link,the sets and everything look great,its just Depp doesnt make a convincing Wonka.He looks more like the neighborhood child molester than Willy Wonka.

I still think a Nightmare b4 Xmas style film would have been a better route for this movie.

Get it, sugary=chocolate factory. So far, from what I see on the previews, he isn't the focal point of the movie, he almost appears to have a supporting role. I will have to wait to see it to fully judge, but I wish he was a little more like Wilder.
