I think I have to agree with Nemo88... from what I've seen and heard about the film I just don't see his music-style fitting. It was pretty good in Toy Story but I think we're gonna have a Phil Collins replay here. Collins' music in Tarzan was spot-on perfect but his talents applied to Brother Bear just didn't work, in my opinion. I'll have to wait and see how this goes but for now I'm worried. Should be interesting to see where this goes...

Who said the music in Frog Princess was going to be anything like Toy Story? His previous work is not necessarily an indication of his work in this film.

That's true, I'm not completely worried but Phil Collins in Brother Bear is so poignant of how a great thing can go bad. I'll keep my fingers crossed though because I'm excited for this flick.

Actually, I love Brother Bear's music. I don't know if I liked how it fit the film though. I feel in love with it by just listening to the album before I even saw the film, as if it just was a regular album of music not attached to anything else. I think it works better that way.
And Welcome, well, that's just Disney gold to me (particularly the POD version which I believe is the BEST version of the song!).

As for The Frog Princess, I guess Alan Menken and Glenn Slater were doing the preliminary work on the music, but I guess John Lassiter decided that he wanted someone else. Honestly, I think Alan and Glenn would have been perfect for the film. Thing is, they supposedly really wanted to do this film's music, and Alan has been trying to get Disney to allow him to do a classic Disney musical his style (and we all know he defined the sound from Mermaid on.)
