I don't feel sad about it. He lived some life. A full life. Maybe the fullest life anybody can live, full of the highest ups and the deepest downs.

You can't ignore his talent, his showmanship or what he did in his personal life, which not only involved him but children as well. Whether or not he committed any crimes, his actions still caused people heartache as well as joy. He is a portrait of what a mentally ill person with money looks like and acts like. I wonder how much his childhood had to do with it.

Above all, you can't ignore the jokes, which are already flying all over the place where I'm at.

Well, finally all reports say the same thing. He has died.

I do feel sorry for his children. Who gets custody of them now?
You remind me of the babe...

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

That's very bad news. I grew up with Michael Jackson's music. My personal favorite is the Jackson 5's "Never Can Say Goodbye." And I love the "Scream" song he did with Janet.

    You don't even understand...

god, I'm devastated. I grew up on this man. My dad is a musician, and used to play Mike and Stevie through the headphones on my mother's belly.
This man was everything to me as a kid...especially in a childhood that had it's dark moments.
From two years old, and as a little boy, I studied Smooth Criminal, Thriller, everything. This is why I do what I do.
This man is the reason why I have such a love for music...for dance...performance...showmanship...
This man is the way I found Janet...and feel in love with her work.

Look, I'm not one of those crazy fans who thinks the man can do no wrong. Still, through all the craziness all these years, I never lost my love for the man's artistry. And he was this close to returning to the stage. I can't believe it. Through it all, he was still my ultimate.

    I'm speechless.
    I'm devastated.
I've never felt so sad about someone I didn't even really know.

ps. So for those of us truly hit by this...please spare the jokes and wisecracks. Not the time.

I don't really know what he did or didn't do in his personal life, but I also grew up with his music and am sad to hear that he has died.

Oh God, I could not believe this when I read it. So young, too. Wait till my parents hear.

Let's try to be respectful to those who died. It's really uncalled for to make jokes at those who've gone through bad things. And, agreed club33, very classless.

And it will be his music that live on as his legacy.
