Tangled (Rapunzel) in 3D, Opens November 24, 2010

Walt Disney Pictures presents RAPUNZEL, an action-packed, swashbuckling, animated musical comedy about the girl behind 70 feet of magical, golden hair. A princess stolen from her parents’ castle as a baby, Rapunzel (voice of MANDY MOORE) is locked in a hidden tower longing for adventure . Now an imaginative and determined teenager, she takes off on a hilarious, hair-raising escapade with the help of a dashing bandit (voice of ZACHARY LEVI). With the secret of her royal heritage hanging in the balance and her captor in pursuit, Rapunzel and her cohort find adventure, heart, humor, and hair... lots of hair. With original music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, this comedic re-imagining of the classic Brothers Grimm fairytale comes to theaters in Disney Digital 3D.

New picture of Rapunzel taken from an Italian board:

I'm not too impressed at the designs as they seem rather generic, pretty much the same problem I had with PATF's look. The eyes are too large and Rapunzel looks an nth permutation of Ariel.

Hmm, interesting they do seem rather generic and Dreamworksy. Although rendered much nicer...

I do fear for this movie doing well at the box office. Harry Potter 7 only opens a couple of days before it. I hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as Bolt and PatF. However if it's as good as PatF I won't care how well it does at the box office.

Once again, EARTH TO WALT DISNEY PICTURES!! Paging Walt Disney Pictures, this is plain logic calling. You already failed to realize once when you released a potentially high-grossing animated film a week before Avatar. Please don't make the same mistake again by releasing yet another film just days before one of the most anticipated conclusions to a film series in a long time.

Somebody needs to fire the entire marketing division. I think that would do wonders for the company.

For real. Why on God's green earth would you purposefully open against Harry Potter 7.5? DUMB.

So....why was the Cheno fired from the leading role and replaced by Mandy Moore?

Wait a minute, opening as a limited release? How limited?

And I'm guessing that the decision to put Rapunzel up against Harry Potter 7 was made by the genius who decided it would be a good idea to put Princess and the Frog up against Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. Seriously, do they want thses films to do bad? Is it all part of some master plan to discredit Feature Animation and put power back into the hands of the direct-to-DVD people?
